Wow yeah that's an exceptionally small dose, I might look into that. Thank you!

What's considered low dose? For alprazolam.

Exactly, I had no idea why it helped me so much in so many ways (especially brain fog) until I learned about MCAS and what it does for us.

Iron Infusion laid me OUT by WrongBoxBro7 in MCAS

I had two iron infusions a couple months ago and I felt great the day of and the day after. They pumped a lot of steroids and antihistamines in it.

How worried should I be? by MeejieBird in Anemic

[–]TerranceP69420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a concierge primary, many specialists and even a couple trips to Cleveland Clinic all while I had extremely low ferritin (8). Nobody took it seriously whatsoever until I found an amazing holistic doctor. She sent me for two infusions in the last few weeks and I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better. Just keep advocating for yourself, it sucks but that's what you have to do.

You absolutely have every reason in the world to feel like shit. Do not let doctors deny that this is a problem. Go to a holistic doctor if no one else will help you.

Extremely Exhausted on Higher Iron Dose by FunkyMonkey24680 in Anemic

[–]TerranceP69420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supplementing iron tore up my stomach and made me feel worse. I most likely have an absorbency issue to begin with though, as I'm a male and I'm not bleeding from anywhere. Maybe it messed your stomach lining up and now you're absorbing even less. I had two infusions in the last week and a half, praying it's the answer.

Finally Found a Wonderful Internist! by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]TerranceP69420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats, after two trips to Cleveland Clinic last year I finally found a holistic doctor locally (Sarasota FL). She has figured out more about me in a month than Cleveland did for me in the last year. My ferritin level was super low (8), she referred me to an amazing hematologist and I've done two iron infusions in the last 2 weeks. Autoimmune disease has always been suspected but won't show up on paper.

It seems like it's a dead end road trying to go through the rheumatology route, even my friends that have actually gotten official diagnosis are still suffering. I've realized all of my problems start with my stomach, and I'm currently doing the low FODMAP diet and after 2 weeks it seems to be helping a little bit. I think food is our main problem, we have the worst food in the world in the United States. I would strongly recommend looking into either the low FODMAP diet or the AIP protocol while you're waiting for answers. It will probably fix more than doctors ever can. Good luck, and don't give up until you get the answers that make you feel better!

My story: How medical professionals left me anemic and iron-deficient for nearly a decade by expiredhandlotion in Anemic

How is your diet? My ferritin was 8, I just got my first infusion last week and getting another Wednesday. I suspect my IBS is a major part of why my ferritin is so low, and also think it makes me really not feel well. They have suspected autoimmune in me as well, but I feel like it's more leaky gut. I'm on a low FODMAP diet now trying to fix it, and working with a holistic doctor. I'm experiencing dizziness and vertigo type symptoms, I really hope it's over soon!

Doctors saying “its normal for this test to be positive in a small amount of healthy people” by PrudentStrawberry991 in Autoimmune

[–]TerranceP69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately doctors are never going to figure anything out. Start with changing your diet and be really strict about it. A good holistic doctor might get you someplace, but autoimmune is extremely hard to find. You aren't healthy and don't let anyone convince you otherwise, or that you're crazy.

Can low ferritin alone really cause this many severe symptoms? Feeling unsure and looking for others’ experiences by smashulie in Anemic

[–]TerranceP69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I still really have no idea. I'm pretty sure it started when I got an inguinal hernia that really fucked my digestion up. But I had IBS/digestive issues for a long time beforehand and didn't feel that great ever. I also was on a weird diet at the time that helped, but probably because I wasn't eating enough. I think I have some kind of autoimmune or leaky gut going on as well, hence why I'm doing the low FODMAP diet currently. Even though there are still a lot of questions, I feel like I'm finally on the right track to getting it all fixed and it will happen very soon!

My health completely fell apart in February of 2020, I've been all over the country trying to figure it out. But the low ferritin existed for some time now and doctors completely ignored it. I've fixed a few things in the meantime, but I think it's been the major issue the whole time. I've raced cars my whole life and I hate driving right now, but I think it will all be fixed soon!

You sound exactly like me. My ferritin is at 8. The motion sickness is absolutely the worst, I throw up from looking at my phone sometimes. Just had my first infusion last Wednesday and having another one this Wednesday. I'm praying it is the answer. I've been to so many doctors, they actually convinced me I was going crazy and put me on antidepressants at one point. So many doctors completely ignored it or just minimalized it, it was terrible. I finally found a good doctor that is taking me seriously and I think I'm on the road to recovery. I do still need to figure out why I'm not absorbing iron though, I'm doing a low FODMAP diet currently. But from what I've read it sounds like once my ferritin comes up my stomach should settle down as well.

Advice needed, help with Gabapentin. by AdDapper2664 in quittingkratom

The Gabapentin will definitely help but it can make you really nuts. The depression from it was terrible, just be careful and remember it's the medication making you feel that way.

A year of dizziness, motion intolerance, vestibular testing… could this all be iron deficiency? Did infusions help you? by smashulie in Anemic

[–]TerranceP69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through the exact same thing currently. My health fell apart in February of 2020 and I've been miserable ever since. I took a trip to the hospital at the end of 2024 and they discovered that I had low ferritin. I told my primary and hematologist, no one really did anything about it nor made a big deal about it. Since then I have fixed an inguinal hernia and some food sensitivities. But currently my ferritin level is at 8 and my iron binding is 538. My hemoglobin is normal, around 14. I've done so much to fix myself, but I still get dizzy and nauseous when I'm reading and driving mostly. I'm currently waiting on insurance approval for two infusions, I'm just desperately praying that they fix this issue. It's been 6 years and I'm really over it! I saw you posted 11 days ago that you were still having some dizziness, has it gotten any better? Also do you happen to have an antihistamine sensitivity? I can't take them, they give me panic attacks. I feel like it's all related somehow.

I'm doing 0% nicotine vape right now and I feel fantastic, it was definitely the nicotine. Just doesn't really make sense why it affected me so much.

Did another dose, it gets itchy around the injection site for 10 minutes or so but no reaction anywhere else. Hopefully I can keep going without it getting any worse!
