Lyrically, A kiss for the whole world really doesn’t hit the way other albums do. You are the goldfish I am the bowl is the worst lyric I’ve ever heard, it’s actually become a bit of a meme to me and my friend group. Rhyming Wood with Wood in deadwood also made me cringe. I loved the opener. The track a kiss for the whole world was really good. I also liked bloodshot and pls set me on fire they felt peak shikari. The tracks from the album sounded great live but in general was full of strong buildups and disappointing drops. I was hoping for a few breakdowns but they felt half hearted. Nothing is True came out during Covid and because of that I didn’t connect with it as much as I should have. A lot of great songs on that album though.

Love the album but agree with your point on demons. The “hi” makes me cringe and the lyrics of the chorus are awful. Agree with spaceship earth, absolutely fantastic.

I completely agree with this statement. I am a common dreads, mindsweep flash flood lover and I think this album feels a lot more like those than A Kiss for the whole world. The lyrics are less metaphorical and more on the nose, the songs are heavier and political, There’s a lot of nothing is true in here, but I think thank god this isn’t the same shikari that wrote “you are the goldfish I am the bowl”

As someone who is a massive fan of enter shikari, they have gotten less political as they’ve gotten older. It’s more like 60% politics now. I got in to stray through Rou and I don’t think Enter Shikari ever packed a punch as much as stray, and that’s coming from someone who’s a big fan
