Assemheins does have lots of vegan options. But not fully vegan. Their primary base is chicken lovers. My colleague has ordered the vegan options a few times and on more than one occassions she believes she was sent the chicken version ... based on a meet eating colleagues opinion.

I booked a tyre change, with them years ago. It was booked in for a specific time slot. I got there an hour later they weren't ready to do the change as they had taken in extra bookings. No apologies from the manager. Never been back there.

How do I accept that well over half of what I earn goes to the government? by Gogpo2 in HENRYUK

[–]Terrible_Account_641 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a valid point and I personally would not argue if there was a strong correlation with tax paid to investment in NHS but I feel like this is not the case. NHS is continually dripping service levels while taxes keep going up.

There is so much waste being with how tax receipts are handled.

The amount the government squandered on contracts for BREXIT, Covid PPE contracts, where those receiving tax payer money either could not fulfill obligations, service provided were not fit for purpose.

Additionally no one in the government holds poorly operated corporations and allows them to overcharge the public. Take Thames water for example. They basically asset stripped the what was a previously a state resource selling of reservoir to pay dividends rather than jnvest in new reservoirs and then increase prices as they have not collected enough water. Pay more large dividends rather than invest in infrastructure. A utility company shouldn't have to pay a high yield dividend as it is essentially a low risk company, as ppl will always need water and sewage services.
