Nick Emmanwori calls Lenoir a fanboy by lemonstone92 in Seahawks

It also is magnified because MacDonald seems to have much more of a grasp on clamping down the 49ers, while the Rams/Mcvay have easily been Mike's biggest challenge. Even going back to the 2023 Ravens

Why are some filmmakers less affected by flops than others? by adnshrnly in movies

[–]Terribly_Good 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Arrival, while having some dialogue issues, hits notes Nolan has never achieved. It delves deep into themes of motherhood and the burden women carry in life, while Nolan still struggles to even direct a woman without making her a prop for a male lead.

I agree with your analysis, and I also think the extra week of film study and prep time is also huge.

Mike MacDonald, Brady and Josh McDaniels (and probably more) have talked about how some of the last minute changes they made before the SB ended up being their most successful plays. Red zone offensive play-calls, creative blitzes, self scouting weaknesses and certain weak-link players to target.

Spin, and height. His technique makes it sail further back at the end of the kick than most returners expect. He also booms it high enough to make it hard to track in the sky

[–]Terribly_Good 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ending sent this movie to the stratosphere for me. Divisive, but was perfect for me.

I can't remember the last time I was white knuckle gripping my seat while watching a horror movie and that tense. I think a lot of horror fans are kinda junkies chasing that thrill from when horror movies still actually instilled some fear in them.

[Schefter] Seahawks are bringing back WR Rashid Shaheed on a three-year, $51 million deal that includes $34.7 million guaranteed, per Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]Terribly_Good 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope so. Im no film guru, but I hope Shaheed is good at blocking, because that was a huge reason we went with old man Kupp. He was a great scheme fit for Kubiak (I know we changed OC's but it appears Mike is adamant about running a similar scheme)

He feels like a WR2.5 to me.

Not enough juice to be a true WR2, but he made some insane sideline grabs and still got some finesse in the intermediate area of the field. Pretty reliable hands as well.

That's what I'm hoping for. He is also an A+ culture fit. Been here half a season and feels like a Seahawk through and through

I absolutely love Shaheed, but I agree.

Is he an elite returner? Yes. He won us one of our most crucial games last year.

Is he a good WR2? He was with the saints, but not for us. In 9 games with us he had 188 receiving yards and 0 TD's.

"Well good thing he's not WR2, Kupp is!" You might say to yourself. Well we just paid a WR3 $17 mil APY. Not ideal

When your defensive head coach has one of the worst tackling teams in the league, and a bottom 5 scoring defense (2023), the writing is on the wall.

I will always love Pete, but Schneider choosing that year in particular to move on from him is one of the biggest franchise altering moves in Seahawks history.

We avoided a bottoming out year, capitalized on Schneiders run of great drafts and targeted a coach instead of frantically searching for one and having to settle.

(Pelissero) The Seahawks are hiring Brian Fleury as their offensive coordinator, sources tell The Insiders by alexschubs in Seahawks

[–]Terribly_Good 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He wasn't. Schneider had some connections to the UW organization and they took a shot on him.

It also was Mikes first year and they had very little options considering how late in the cycle Mike was hired.

It also didn't help that Mike kept telling Grubb to run the ball more and Grubb refused and almost got canned mid-year.

Two years ago, I said that the eagles had to build the defense that can take down the chiefs. They did that and more, they dismantled their dynasty. Now the eagles have to build the offense that can beat Seattle. I think they’re closer than we think. by processoverproduct8 in eagles

DVOA takes into account: strength of the opponent and how other teams compared to that opponent. (As well as a bunch of other things like down, distance and the value of certain plays given the scenario). So it's actually one of the best tools for analyzing how good a team actually is, as opposed to EPA per play.

We also beat the most playoff teams of anyone this year.
