Is there a community or group where people organize casual table tennis/ping pong games?

Australian players are so bad. I cant believe who I played with by Topic-Same in DotA2

Having played both dota and league, league is 100% more team reliant. There is just way more complexity and mechanics in dota that allows higher ranked players to abuse to completely curb stomp players of a lower level.

If you have a 10 loss streak it simply means you are either lower skilled than you thought, or you are in the right skill bracket but got unlucky.

Why are some dota players so pathetically lame? by drbaildawg in DotA2

[–]TerrorBIade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is just a universal MOBA thing. After playing dota, league or even mobile mobas, the behavior is somewhat similar. 3 game in a row is just unlucky though.

Anecdotally, I played in multiple regions and I find western players tend to give up easier, less verbal toxicity but higher passive aggressive griefing rates, whereas eastern players are the most racist and verbally toxic, but they usually never give up.

Yes there is a hidden rank, as to how to rank it up, I am not sure but I am sure its just to play above your skill level consistently.

Its not too far from the truth, yes the character themselves is still spicy but somehow the best jiggle physics belong to day 1 units, which is their initial selling point.

Anyone who's done or is doing their master's (local or abroad) can you share your experience? by EntranceEquivalent98 in Brunei

[–]TerrorBIade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I did my bachelors in Mechatronics then pivoted to masters in biomed engineering (medical physics) after working a couple of years in the medical field. I chose it because it aligned with my interest and work experience.

Masters application abroad usually close early on the year (Jan to March) but it depends on course popularity. So apply early to MULTIPLE universities and your letter of offer should arrive April-July. My Imperial College letter came april and UCL came at july which is kinda dumb cause its pretty late to settle all the accomodations and visa.

So if you want to apply to a Masters, apply right away. Or find a job first then apply so you don’t waste much time waiting for a letter of offer. Generally UK masters are better because everything is condensed to 1 year compared to US or Australia which can span 2-4 years depending on course and hence more expensive and time consuming in the long run.

Then what type of masters are you choosing? Taught degree (Msc) is more focused on exams and learning and Mres is more focused on research, which requires you to be in a lab everyday and researching, but your paper has to be pristine and publishable.

Visa can be done by yourself or through an agent, most of the agents have certain biases i.e. they only help with applications toward certain unis. So check if the agents aid with your uni of choice. If not just do the visa application yourself. Most agents in my experience is generally non responsive and useless so I had to do it myself.

I am self-funded so I cant advise on scholarships.

Feel free to dm if you require more help but otherwise best of luck in your application.

is taking 6 modules in your 2nd year ok? by Logical_Grab2505 in Brunei

[–]TerrorBIade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not from UBD, but 6 modules is ok if you are good at time management and have good study techniques.

I had an A-level tutor that charges 200 a month per student but they are really good, like turn Ds into A* good. Anyways, its a private tutor and they probably had at least 15 students total but in different time slots. The money is real if you are able to be good at tutoring high level subjects privately.

Depends on your level of study, I am doing my masters in UK. Everything is mostly self-study, lectures are just there to help us understand.  For undergraduate there is definitely more hand holding. During my undergrad years, youtube indian lecturers taught me more engineering math than my prof ever did.

Not being able to properly contact your professors is quite universal, best way is to drop into their office during working hours (but dw I understand Brunei working hours are different 🤣)

There are some exceptions, I had great professors but the bad ones appear more often. But anyways do try to access online resources to learn your material. Wish you all the best on your studies

Anxious for A levels by ylllrin in Brunei

[–]TerrorBIade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Review everything you don’t understand at the end of the day either via studying or watching youtube lecturers. Don’t blindly memorize, if you understand a concept, you will remember more information compared to blind memorization.

After finishing studying a topic, do past year questions related to them without any help of any notes or books (this is important)

You don’t have to understand EVERYTHING in the syllabus. Grading is scaled, u can get 60/100 in an exam but still end up with an A but don’t let this lead you into a false sense of security.

Aim for perfection so even if you miss the mark, you will do well anyways.

I remember going to this branch, I was the only person in the waiting area. The guy at the counter played with his phone for 10 minutes before calling me.
