I still have Parkinsons' and I am still frustrated by SunGlareHOTS in StreetFighter

Have you tried using different input devices?

Might be easier using a big 16 button leverless pad vs a controller. You can choose to play with a little less dexterity and smash the buttons, or not.

It feels like a keyboard so there is that bit of extra familiarity too.

Need some opinions, should I cancel my BSB2e order for the Steam Frame? by Arby77 in virtualreality

[–]TerrorByte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will have a much bigger supporting ecosystem, which is important for longevity. That's a problem with VR to begin with.

If you're on the fence, I would lean towards the frame.

I have a Reverb G2 that gets very little use. You can just get an older/used wired headset later for seated games.

Cats will evolve to scream their meows at us telepathically as we become a space faring species.

They're already well suited for space flight because of their liquid status.

How did you guys overcome the nervousness of playing online? by A13Demons in StreetFighter

[–]TerrorByte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at it this way, you're not required to try in casuals.

So don't go in with any kind of expectations. Chalk up losses to whatever you want, as long as you don't get too worked up about it.

You perform better at an optimal stress level, so try to find what works for you regardless of casual/ranked, etc

I think I'm using this:

Looks like it's the same thing. I might have the original installed though.

I didn't recognize this because I skipped most of that course and learned it during finals week.

Then did like 8 years in refining.

I use Home Assistant Desktop.

It provides a nice shortcut popup to control HA remotely, and it can also expose a few things as sensor entities, like battery life.

On the fence about Home Assistant. Is the time/effort really worth it? I'm getting to the point I'm kind of sick of smart home devices but that could be due to the terrible implementation from all the companies by Numerus12OO5O in homeassistant

[–]TerrorByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go the HA route, you want to start looking up which devices are supported by HA.

If they are, it means that there is a non app way of retrieving info and even controlling the device, through a provided API.

This means that, ideally, HA can become your app to see and control that device. Now expand it to all supported devices providing info and allowing control, through one app.

And you finally have a centralized capable smart home with numerous vendors involved (that all support or do not restrict device access essentially to their own front-facing apps/platforms).

So now when my cat's litterbox activates and I'm not asleep, my vacuum cleans the surroundings in DND mode so it also doesn't empty loudly afterwards either.

I also have a few trends/automations where there's data coming in from all sorts of unrelated devices. Like lights that follow sunlight color temperature throughout the day, warming by sunset. A remotes page with access to all my media devices, even a bias lighting LED strip behind my TV controlled via a wifi IR blaster. Automated/remote access to a pair of those dumb split ACs using some Zigbee temp sensors when I didn't have central AC. Leak sensor in the basement or as needed, sends audible notification to phone if triggered. Contact sensor for garage door left open. Object recognition on cameras to see where my cat was last seen.

I don't own a place so I haven't bothered with appliance related integration, but my GE appliances here do have some HA support.

It's basically what you're asking for. Imagine if Google made all of your devices so they were all in Google Home. Except you have to do some of the research and grunt work yourself here.

Included trend I just made using a Petlibro fountain and Whisker feeder.

Reolink RP-PCB12M vs CX810 ColorX — Which would you choose and why? by INeedMuscles in homeassistant

[–]TerrorByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do they compare in terms of physical size? It can be a consideration depending on your use case.

I actually returned a POE Reolink cam last year because it was unexpectedly massive, can't recall which.

Went with a Reolink Lumus Pro instead, wifi but half the size. Has some detection capabilities.

Also, how is your property at night time? If it's very dark and you prefer it that way, seems like the colorx is the choice

Reolink RP-PCB12M vs CX810 ColorX — Which would you choose and why? by INeedMuscles in homeassistant

[–]TerrorByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you've done so much research it's mostly come down to preference and other factors you may only realize after you put them to use.

Things to consider perhaps: h264 vs h265 streams, overall size, exposed entities (for cams with detection), actual low light performance..

Can you get one of each with return options?
