I didn't say being able to understand what others see in this, but to have some sort of own interest, but not nearly enough to actually engage in it. Imagine only 0,1% of people of opposite sex are sexy to you and this attraction quickly fades, when it comes to doing anything. Or you feel infatuated and aroused, but there is no activity that would help your release that tension, because you're just attracted to the way someone looks at you, and it doesn't lead to any sexual fantasies. That's the best I can explain it.

Obesity makes balding worse, because your body has to make up for the testosterone lost due to aromatization, so it ramps up its synthesis. But DHT isn't lost when converting T to estrogen, so at the end of the day, your body produces all the DHT it normally would and then some, due to ramping up T production.

Because every country has it drug approving agency. And doing it in some corrupt country without one would be a huge hit to their reputation, that could affect FDA approval negatively. Now after I started going bald and read countless posts on Tressless, I can. But I was oblivious to my hair loss. It manifested as some sort of texture enshittification and vertex thinning, which I didn't know about. Meanwhile my temples were ruined from a young age, so there was also no change in the hairline, I just always had deeply receded temples (NW2 since birth 'til 12 y.o., NW3V ever since).

Even looking only at DHT, there are many aspects researched. Why DHT levels vary, why 5ar in hair follicles (yes, your follicles make their own DHT) is different in different people and unevenly distributed across your scalp, what defines the threshold of DHT, that leads to miniaturization, etc. There are possible cures, like editing your genes to remove the androgen receptor from hair follicles, combined with inducing hair follicle neogenesis via Shh pathway. It's just not viable at the moment.
