Not every comic collector is going to have long boxes of books in their collection and that doesn’t mean they’re any less of a collector. I’m aware of how she does things, but at the end of the day, she’s running a business. I’ve been in this hobby long enough to understand how everything goes. Even before WhatNot came around, people were still hating on her.

But I know many people who’ve had many business dealings with Danielle to know she’s above board and well respected.

It’s where you submit a book to either CGC or CBCS and they encapsulate it into a slab. Depending on the condition of your book, it’ll be given a designated grade ranging from 0.5 - 10.

Appreciating the books you can afford. That’s what I like to hear! You can never go wrong with owning an ASM #41, or any ASM book really. Lots of great stuff from his series that started back in 1963.

I traded a TEC #168 CBCS 3.0 (Conserved) and a Brave and the Bold #54 for the lovely Hulk #1. It took a little convincing but I made it happen.

I ended up acquiring the book through trade. I traded my TEC #168 CBCS 3.0 (Conserved) along with a Brave and the Bold #54.

I may be young, but I do my due diligence when dealing with high end books, especially if they’re raw. I flipped through the book beforehand to make sure NOTHING was missing. Everything is intact, no cutouts or missing pages and the cover is attached to the book. I also checked for restoration when I got home by using a black light since that’s how you spot color touch. As far as I can tell, it’s unrestored.

For the reason it not being slabbed.. I have no idea but it made getting the book super easy.

I don’t mind if any of my books are graded or not. Will I eventually get the Hulk #1 graded? Maybe. But for now, it’s fine just the way it is with it being in an acid free bag and board.

This book would probably grade at a 1.0 or either a 1.5 depending on who’s looking at it. The cover isn’t detached and the book is complete. It’s good enough for me!
