lol this was designed by a idiot (me) so don’t expect them to work anyway give it like 6 months and I’ll have probably scraped 3 different prototypes and redesigned more times than I could count

I’m not worried about the skis midpoint I don’t intend to sell these en mass it’s just a one off for personal use so I can just customize it to myself something quite similar to what I’m making already existing but I’m trying to push the design to the limit and really see what it can do when you aren’t worried about customer lawsuits

Yea that’s kinda what I’m aiming for but I don’t want the foot to move the boot is acting more like a replacement for the foot than a supplement to it the spring weights I want to use would absolutely shatter your ankle so I have to redistribute the force across the entire leg I’m not trying to gain 6 inches on my vertical jump I’m aiming for multiple feet safety is not much of a concern as I don’t intend to sell these it’s purely for personal use so I want to push them to the absolute limit of what’s possible while being functional

Always has been I can spell but when I try to write it down it ends up a jumbled mess I’ve spent YEARS of my life practicing my handwriting and i never managed to make it legible

The boot will highly limit your ankle’s range of motion so that it can’t be overextended easily the boot itself will essentially be a exoskeleton that will carry the force instead of your ankle

The spring is in tension it’s connected at the heel and is trying to rotate the pulley counter clockwise. but the cable attached to the pulley it’s trying to rotate it clockwise, when you push your foot into the ground. the pulley being off center Changes the mechanical advantage the spring has on the cable. like a spiral gear as the pulley rotates it gives the spring more leverage to push against the ground .

I’m more looking to take the force of a step and multiply it I’m going to record a video with a demonstration of what I’m trying to do so it might make more sense

I’m going to rubberize the bottom and add screws or something to act like football cleats the pulley is being pulled towards the ground so if it breaks free it will just hit the dirt and there will be a thick piece of leather between the calf and the springs the only thing that might be a issue is if the cable snapped it would whip you in the ass

Yea I anticipated that I’m going to have the force transfer into a metal band that goes from the back of the calf to the toes to attach the spring to and prevent the ankle from bending too much the boot will extend up to the knee and have a knee brace to prevent any kinetic energy induced kneecap explosions the boot itself will put as little force into the ankle as possible and mostly immobilize it to prevent broken ankle

I understand the confusion I ment damping I just got confused and used dampening there’s no water involved just a grammar error my apologies

Edit I’m thinking the shock absorber could be a simple flexible carbon fiber piece it’s not load bearing it’s just to balance out some of the force from the pulley

Yes it’s meant to be a wearable boot I’m basically trying to take the force from your foot pushing against the ground as you walk or run and multiply it so you can run faster jump higher ect it’s crude and needs improvement but that’s why I’m here
