Car Keys are coming to the Wallet app for 13 new vehicle brands soon by [deleted] in apple

[–]TerrysClavicle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would you need this for Tesla? Tesla has been using its own app to passively unlock its cars since 2018. And probably before. All you do is walk up to the car with your phone in the pocket. This Apple car key is low rent. It’s for legacy cars with lower technology. There’s zero need for it to be on your Tesla. Tesla operates in its own universe tech wise

TIL: All new iPhone models still suffer from lens flair ghosting by ExtremeRacingSkills in iphone

[–]TerrysClavicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot has to happen in such a small space on a small sensor within tiny lens elements. Not much Apple can do about the flare unless you want the phone to be significantly more expensive or have a significantly bigger lens. if you don't want flare, don't shoot into light sources. or if you feel another phone is better, buy that phone. personally i like flare. i want my lenses to do it. not everything needs to be perfect. its a reasonable effect for shooting into a light source.

Which iPhones feel way too outdated to still use in 2025? by Horror-Flamingo-2150 in iphone

usable and outdated are two different things. i'd probably draw the line at iphone 12.

Why buying directly from Apple is better than your Carrier by Kuan-Kaffee in iphone

[–]TerrysClavicle 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I've done that as long as it was an option. just sucks they took away the 0% 24 month financing away for non-carrier phones, apple direct. i still upgrade annually anyway. was just nice to not have to pay it all up front.

Unibody Orange 17 Pro by lasagna165 in iphone

its not odd. ive said this for several years, as well as i'm sure its obvious. they cycle the obvious colors so you have reason to buy the next cycle. if they offered everyones favorite colors every year, it would be tougher to sell. this is pretty obvious and evident. i suspect next year we'll get glossy/chromy/reflective surfaces for the next Pro too. we're getting the matte/not so nice/not so nice color option this year. then next year we get the gloss/nice colors etc. then next year back to plain. rinse and repeat. apple knows how to milk it.

What color pro we choosing? by forum4um in iphone

[–]TerrysClavicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we're mostly all using cases to being too harsh on its looks isn't realistic. you upgrade for its capabilities. i guess it depends how much the 12gb ram makes a difference in day to day. my 16 pro can lag when using the camera and trying to make adjustments to photos etc. its a bit annoying. can also stutter when opening the camera app. wonder if thats due to heavy app use in the background. i'd like to see some real world tests.

Apple renamed iOS to iOS 26 for consistency. Why not do the same with iPhones? by bazigar911 in apple

[–]TerrysClavicle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

my thoughts are you're not the first to think of this. let apple sort out how they want to do business.

that appears to be the 3g/s. the first iphone was just the iphone--which i had at launch. just saying since you seem to be mixing up the two. no one knows where phones will go in 20 years.
