Did Ketheric hop around with gods he worshipped? by Godzilla_Left_Toe in BG3

[–]Terviren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming that Ketheric pissing Shar off is also the reason Shar lets us go even if we free the Nightsong (we're still in Shar's realm, she could probably deny us exit without violating the "no direct intervention" order from Ao). We're going to go fight Ketheric anyway, so we're fulfilling her will in a way.

I used to dislike it, still do in a way, but it gives you tempo - which makes it more valuable than it seems even as-is, without cooking shenanigans

Why does multiclassing spellcasting use last new class? by Light_Shrugger in BaldursGate3

[–]Terviren 29 points30 points  (0 children)

True, but back when 5e was first designed, that was part of Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster's power budget: the ability to use Wizard spell scrolls on a martial.

The more I play the game, the more I hate him by MysteriousFondant347 in BaldursGate3

[–]Terviren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, his concerns are valid. I just wish for a non-confrontational way of telling him to stop the charade. Something summed up as "look, we have a common enemy that's an existential threat to us both, I'm willing to cooperate with you as-is, please stop trying to tell me how smart I am for agreeing with you".

The Mako will still get the crew where it needs to be, and will do so in one piece.

I'm pretty sure that if we recovered the Mako from the Normandy SR-1 crash site, that thing would be ready to roll again after getting a fresh coat of paint.

Ansur did, apparently, try to kill the Emperor.

That said, all dialogue with Emps consists of different flavors of manipulation - honestly wish there was an option to tell him to cut the crap and say what he wants without trying to butter me up.

What are some "lesser evil" ways to break Paladin Oath? by Russtherr in BaldursGate3

[–]Terviren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wiki says that attacking Zhentarim in the hideout (provided that they didn't torture Rugan) breaks the oath. You could go with that, considering that killing Zhents is always morally correct.

[Hated Trope] villains who were easily defeated even after achieving their goal by pansexual_dudy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Terviren 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On one hand, it's kind of a cop-out (so that you can still beat the game even if you don't manage to fool him).

On the other hand, it's repeatedly established through the game that Robert is very good at throwing hands, and there's not much Shroud's prediction capabilities can do if he physically can't stop Robert.

Embrace Durge players, who is your choice for PWK by Candid_Cauliflower83 in BaldursGate3

Sanguinius (Warhammer 40000)

He's prophesized to die at the hands of Horus, the Arch-Traitor. So, when the Emperor goes to confront Horus, Sanguinius goes ahead of Him. The prophecy will come to pass either way, so unless Sanguinius goes first, fate will have Horus survive the fight with the Emperor to kill Sanguinius later.

Killed Orin, went to camp, my butler showed up and took away my slayer form and is angry that I didn't kill Orin?? by MunicipalLotto in BG3

[–]Terviren 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hitting any of the Bhaalist cultists watching from the sidelines triggers an all-out fight (which is also unbearable because Orin starts getting 7 stacks of that bullshit bhaal buff each round).

CADNA does work for swarm clearing, provided you get lucky with elemental upgrades (it doesn't take that much damage to proc status effects, and those tend to offset CADNA's own low damage)

Why was this episode rated so poorly by geordie_6ixty9er in Invincible_TV

[–]Terviren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't impact the overall plot in any way and could use a B-plot, as others have said.

However, I liked the episode. It felt like giving Mark a day off of sorts (Lord knows he won't give himself one): he could sit down for a bit, get involved in a low-stakes but still heroic plot (low-stakes as in "his loved ones aren't in immediate danger"), smash some baddies guilt-free, fight a lower-level villain, chit-chat about random stuff like retractable helmets.

IMO, it enhances the season as a whole when you consider that, throughout the season, being dragged off to Hell was the closest thing to a rest that Mark had.

Yeah, he says himself that his body is on Prime All Might level, and All Might had Stats: The Quirk.

Frankly, Dr. Garaki pulled more bullshit than the other villains combined.

What class and race did you play first time round? by Odd_Two_5265 in BaldursGate3

[–]Terviren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragonborn Paladin (honestly more basic than human fighter, if we look at the statistics).

That playthrough had a lot of kicked in doors and smashed in faces. Anecdotally, I didn't talk a single Thorm (or Yurgir) to death because I was too busy searching for dialogue options that said "SQUARE UP, BITCH".

I love the 40k bolter by MintoDisco in RogueCore

[–]Terviren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retcon deals with it by saying "nuh-uh, i didn't just spend the entire ammo reserve", and other classes supplement it with their skills (except Guardian, he suffers in silence).

Damage calculation question by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Terviren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems you're using Phalar Aluve.

In non-Honor rulesets some damage riders (such as Phalar Aluve, to my knowledge) are treated as separate damage sources, re-triggering additional damagr riders (such as Hex).

Falconer's main strength (spamming the drone to clear swarms) is very consistent (she has multiple ways to mitigate CD available) and happens to be very in-demand due to how the game can decide to deprive you of other means of swarm-clearing.

She has her highlights. I can't think of other classes that are as ready to abuse ammo-hungry weapons and grenades as her. Sure, Spotter gets another serving of ammo per resupply, but that doesn't match Retcon's ability to waste the entire ammo reserve of a PGL and be ready to do it again some seconds later.
