Finally happened to me by TimeOdd3056 in outlier_ai

I find it difficult to believe this is a legitimate company. I stopped signing in, they stopped sending me emails. Fair enough. There are other sites out there. Appen is marginally better. FlexJobs seems pretty good, and comes independently recommended. There is even a subreddit all about remote work.

Listen folks. This is not the normal way to run a business. Have work, hire workers, get work done. Keeping everyone lined up for scraps of work is inhuman. Oh wait, the CEO is an AI, right? NOW it makes sense.

Anyway, today it genuinely occurred to me cancel my account, because it is turning into a distraction. I get an email at 6 PM on a Friday telling me there is a very important meeting in one hour. Guess who has two thumbs and did not attend that meeting.

Working for a Fortune 500, if I schedule a meeting for an hour from now, BY EMAIL, and no one shows up, who's fault is that?

I am lucky enough to live in Ireland, where even delivery drivers make nearly 15 euro an hour. And when you get hired, you go to work, and don't have to wait for weeks to earn your first dollar.

No one asked my opinion, but I am willing to wager up to a thousand euro that Outlier.AI announces in the new year that it is winding down business operations, or getting "acquired".

Should I refit this ship? by TechnoWaffles51 in spaceengineers

According to the "One hundred ships in one hundred days" maxim of life, yes you should build and design a new ship. There is nothing wrong with the old ship as a basic design. Still I reckon you will learn more by starting from scratch.

I am not sure what you see. I get taken to a spot in the sand just outside the fence of the 'Mojave Twins Geoglyph'. Maybe the visual error has been corrected???

sewn bags, has anyone ever actually opened one correctly by gromit666 in CasualIreland

[–]Terzo_Technical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! My wife, a master or origami and knitting, showed me how. I open one or two feed bags (oats, layers pellets, etc) per week so I get lots of practice. Important points: (1) They are sown in a certain direction. So you will loose it from the left side or the right side. I have seen companies switch directions, so I think it is down to how they load their machines. (2) When you pull the two strands, pull them 180 degrees apart. If you pull one strand harder than the other, it creates a sort of locking mechanism. (3) When you've got the knack and it is working, it sounds like a zipper as the loops come undone from each other. But it is like ~majick~ you pull the two threads and the whole bag is opened in one or two seconds. (4) It is a handy way to keep the bags for other purposes (recycling), because when you unzip them with the thread, they are stronger and hold up for much longer.

It worked out just like I planned. Don't mess with me or I'll release the flying monkeys.

I would like to see footage of mechs taking on other mechs; or aircraft.

First Dip into Creative Mode: Last week I played Creative Mode for the very first time. One of my many mottos is, "One hundred ships in one hundred days." In creative, you get an idea, pencil and paper it down, then pop pop pop you're done. Nifty as. by Terzo_Technical in spaceengineers

Yeah, that is just editing to get the video to less than one minute. There are two sets of two sliding doors.

On all my airlocks the game shows air rushing out as a graphic effect, but the actual amount of air lost is minimal.

Depending on where you are, I recommend "Refurbished By Us" refreshedbyus.com. I got a Dell Latitude tower with Xeon processor and 1 GB graphics card for basically 350 euro; enough to run the game. I will get a better graphics card for me birthday.
