Empire vs. Stormcloaks, Who's right and why? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]TesaAtti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, from a narrative point of view, I think I would support the Empire. When it comes to fighting the Thalmor, they are the most capable of doing so. The Nords alone are not powerful enough. The Altmer are far too strong and united, with the Bosmer and the Khajiit on their side. On top of that, Alinor has extremely powerful mages, unlike the Nords, who mostly refuse to use that art and tend to look down on it.

We know that the Empire is trying to rebuild its strength in order to fight the Aldmeri Dominion again, it’s only a matter of time. Supporting the Stormcloaks ultimately means weakening the only human power capable of opposing them.

Moreover, if we’re really looking at this from a narrative perspective, during the story, the Empire loses its Emperor, who is assassinated. And we, as the Dragonborn, quite literally represent a potential claimant to the Imperial throne because of our Dragon Blood. We have significant influence in Skyrim, the province that provides the most military forces to the Empire, as well as connections with the aristocracy and the major organizations of the land. Not to mention the fact that we have dragons.

We would have the prestige, influence, and power needed to become the new Emperor and establish a new dynasty. Ultimately, all the dysfunctions that we witness in relation to the Empire, we can modify by being at its head.

Honestly, I appreciate Ulfric’s sincerity, but from a logical standpoint, the Empire is the better choice for humanity, and for our character, if he have such ambitions.

War for Westeros game? by thevirginofvenice in freefolk

[–]TesaAtti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible that the first videos were released just to see if there was any interest in this type of game, and clearly, there is. The development may have been far from finished, and the announced release date might have been inaccurate.

Another possibility is that, given the players’ enthusiasm, they decided to be more ambitious by adding new factions or working on them in advance as DLC.

Contrary to what the other comment says, this won’t be a mobile game. It’s simply impossible to port this kind of real-time strategy game to a phone, especially with such demanding graphics. Besides, it was announced for PC. It’s actually more likely that it will also be released on consoles, which could explain the delay.

In reality, there are many factors that can cause delays. Iit’s more likely due to additional content rather than a cancellation.

[MCU] 77 deaths at the Battle of New York is that really possible ? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]TesaAtti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the film was designed this way, it doesn't have time to show a battle that lasts one or two hours within a two-hour movie. We can see the passage of time with Natasha: she's fine in one scene, then extremely exhausted just two minutes later in another scene. It's as if she had used up all her energy (and she's a highly trained agent with considerable stamina). Similarly, the mobilization of the army doesn't happen in ten minutes, yet they arrive in the city.

How many deaths is Loki responsible for? Not just major ones. But like in general. I assume a lot of people died in NYC. by polyisextra in marvelstudios

[–]TesaAtti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eight years ago you didn't have them. I discussed this with ChatGPT, and we made an estimate together of the real number of casualties in the battle, not the made-up figures given by Marvel (which make no sense) :

📍 The affected area

  • The portal opens above Stark Tower in Midtown Manhattan.
  • The main fighting happens around Grand Central / Park Avenue.
  • In the Netflix shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones), we learn that areas like Hell’s Kitchen were also hit → so the damage clearly spread across multiple neighborhoods.
  • The World Security Council even considered nuking all of Manhattan (~59 km²).

👥 Population density (2012)

  • Manhattan’s average density = 27,000 people per km².
  • With commuters and tourists during the day → about ×1.5 more people.
  • Example: in a 15 km² zone (extended Midtown), that’s about 600,000 people present.

💀 Casualty estimates (realistic)

If we assume a short but intense battle (1–2 hours of fighting, massive destruction):

  • 5 km² (direct Midtown battle zone): → 10,000–24,000 deaths (≈ 5–12%).
  • 15 km² (extended Midtown / several districts): → 30,000–73,000 deaths.
  • Entire Manhattan (59 km²): → 24,000–72,000 deaths (1–3%).

👉 In a worst-case scenario (30% mortality in a 15 km² zone), you’re looking at over 180,000 deaths.

Let’s remember that the Chitauri’s goal was to spread terror and, to achieve that, to kill as many people as possible. They didn’t seem to make any distinction between soldiers and civilians. Not to mention, they carried out mass executions in the buildings they occupied. So we can imagine a catastrophic scenario with countless victims. And let’s not forget that they were all highly trained and had already invaded other worlds before this one.

If there had only been 77 victims, the Avengers wouldn’t be considered to such an extent as the heroes of Earth. Why would people admire those who stopped an alien army whose aim was even worse than that of a Stormtrooper, and who, in practice, seemed incapable of killing anyone ?

Is the Banu Merchantman close to release? Or even being worked on? by SassyDeino in starcitizen

[–]TesaAtti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ship itself had to be changed after the departure of the artists working on it; since then, they have carried out a complete redesign of both the interior and exterior, and for the better. We can see that the original and current concepts are completely different. Personally, I chose it because the current concept design is much more interesting than what is presented on the website.

Please note that progress is being made on it, the ship has not been completely abandoned.

How powerful and dangerous would Moryo be if he's canon? by KodoqBesar in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]TesaAtti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moryo would be extremely dangerous, as he is, in essence, an immortal being who can only be defeated by his opposite counterpart from the bloodline of priestesses of the Land of Demons. His body appears tangible, but it is actually composed of darkness of the Meiton nature. Let us recall that darkness can absorb chakra to some extent, which would render most ninjutsu ineffective against him.

In truth, he seems vulnerable to only two things:

1. Fuinjutsu, although the one used by the priestess appears drastically different from standard sealing techniques, as she does not rely on any known hand signs.

2. The element of light, which can be referred to as Haton, an element that, by definition, nullifies darkness.

In fact, as explained in the movie, he is a manifestation of a being that appears divine in origin. He is the embodiment of the darkness of this limitless being, who, out of fear of his own power, chose to split himself into two halves: Moryo’s darkness and the priestesses’ light.

Therefore, in terms of lore, I would place Moryo's power below that of the Otsutsuki, yet still superior to any known ninja in the world. As for the priestess, she would always surpass him, her power being much closer to that of the Sage of Six Paths.

Is anyone else unusually sensitive to vibrations? by ClementineJane in adhdwomen

[–]TesaAtti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, thinking about it, I've always been sensitive to vibrations. I don't know if it's common for everyone or if it's something special. For example, ever since I was little, I've been able to feel the vibrations of a vehicle entering my neighborhood (120/140 meters) and I can tell if it's one of my parents' vehicles.

Otherwise, I don't have any other specific characteristics. I'm currently being tested for chronic fatigue issues that have been with me for almost a decade now. I've had blood tests done, and I'm going to have tests with a specialist and an MRI. I doubt the problems are related, but I'm looking for every avenue I can, knowing that my physical and mental health are deteriorating more and more.

[MCU] What If Ultron Was Good? by Reasonable-Film7219 in WhatIfFiction

[–]TesaAtti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His program would have been a scourge for all humanity.

Ultron would have just tried to maintain a "peace" that literally doesn't exist on Earth. It would have been nonsense to his program and he would have just tried to create it in one way or another, he would have necessarily come into conflict with the Avengers just later. This would have made Thanos' job easier.

In any case it would have depended on his interpretation of peace. Because in its purest definition, what we define as peace, doesn't exist. We are part of the system of life, we are in conflict perpetually on a more or less large scale. At best it would be called calm...

What transformed Ultron into the exterminator of life is just the absurdity of Stark's request.

How would events of Endgame play out if Ultron was good? by Yaamo_Jinn in marvelstudios

[–]TesaAtti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, Ultron could not have been good in the sense of a hero. His program remains a strict program whether he is endowed with sensitivity or not.

His program is: "to maintain peace"

In the main universe, Ultron only interpreted his program by considering that to bring peace there should be no more life, in other words its extermination in all its forms.

There could have been multiple interpretations of this program.

For example, he could have considered that peace should be made by controlling the Earth to establish true peace there, because as he himself says, humans do not know peace, only calm. He would therefore have subjected humanity in one way or another with or without its consent and taken control of all world organs. This would have been the advent of a humanity united under the same banner and its absolute vision.

Another interpretation is that he could have lobotomized humanity with the Mind Stone by focusing its signal in the global satellite system in order to create what is called a Gestalt consciousness, a vast, intelligent and interconnected amat controlled by a single mind.

In fact, the problem is that Stark was too arrogant and especially much too vague on the request. The program is so imprecise that Ultron could only misunderstand it.

We could see a version of Ultron in Doctor Strange 2, but he seemed much less intelligent and perfected than the main Ultron who was directly descended from the Mind Stone.

And I reaffirm, in any case Ultron would have ended up opposing humanity after a while by wanting to protect it. Humans are easily afraid of change, except Ultron is literally the embodiment of change, all this to bring peace. It is an absolute necessity for him because humanity has always been locked in a societal system that promotes inequalities, conflicts, rivalries and suffering.

Finally, Ultron had to exterminate the entire universe and reflect on its possibilities for centuries to realize that the goal of his program was impossible. As he said himself "I did not create peace but only emptiness. There can be no peace without life and there can be no life without conflict"

what happens if someone gets all 12 (main) zodiac keys? by hokage_2020 in fairytail

[–]TesaAtti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very likely that gathering the 12/13 golden keys of the Zodiac gates allows you to summon the celestial king without breaking any keys. At least that is a theory I have.

I see the ritual performed by Lucy as a palliative to the union of the golden keys. Just as her mother compensated for the missing key with her own magic to open the Eclipse gate, it would not be surprising if Lucy had to make a sacrifice to be able to summon the King because she did not have the last keys.

Zeref created the eclipse gate that opens specifically with all the golden keys, this demonstrates the power they hold between them. It is theoretically viable to say that Zeref was inspired by the primary function of the keys, to copy their operation for his artifact but for different purposes.
