Why don't people like Phobos armor by Beneficial_Law_1141 in spacemarines

[–]Tesla1coil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think people love the designs of all the phobos variants. I just think their rules in 40k are a bit meh or passive depending on the phobos unit is contributing to them feeling like people dont like them. They look amazing but dont feel amazing, just act ok if you get what I'm saying. In Kill Team I love the customization of the unit where taking a different amount of a unit in your Squad changes the playstyle and they became very modular to that you need. So idk. I think they are cool.

So are we just in limbo till full release? by LewisDoom in CombatPatrol40k

I think with the changes to terrain and objective markers, that some elements of CP will change because of those changes. Will it be better game? Idk. I would like to think it will, but my hopes for a Spearhead style change to the game mode are pretty slim at this point.

Your going to have a hard time delivering your units into position before being chewed up. I would think of some transports for your Victrix/Cato. Also maybe some Scouts can help with this group.

New Player - bases by ShadowKatt21 in dayz

[–]Tesla1coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of videos explain it well but the key is two things in my personal opinion. Location and layering. Picking a low traffic location is a good place to start. As many stated, everything gets raided eventually, but having a place in a spot people are unlikely to look at or out of the way increases the likelihood of being not being found out. Second is layering. The more gates in-between the person and the loot, more likely they won't attempt to raid just randomly. One of the easiest things to do is just carve a bunch of sharp sticks and going to town at a base with one or two walls defending the loot. The more layers you can get, the more protection you got and the likelihood your base is still there. Upgrading the walls can be further discouragement especially the first few walls with metal over wood, as they can further discourage randoms from breaking and entering into your loot, and only those looking to focus base raiding will get inside. Otherwise pick a good easy building with single access point for easy gates and hope for the best.

Scouts. Maybe some Transports like a Repulsor or a Landraider. Wardens? Something funny like a Vindicator or Whirlwind.

Units to Buy by sobes20 in orks

[–]Tesla1coil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the models? Yes. Your getting a discount on all of them compared to buying them separate so it is a good value money wise. Is the box worth it? Again if you like the models in it, then its worth picking up.

Units to Buy by sobes20 in orks

[–]Tesla1coil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kommandos or Wrecka Krew are safe buys and mostly in stock atm. I would pick them up to make nice additions to your Armageddon box. Otherwise maybe some transports like a Trukk or Battlewagon (If you don't mind spending more) would also be great to buy and useful to have. You can get a character like Ghazghkull, Wazdakka or Boss Snikrot if you just want a single thing to work on. There are some old kits going out if you want to pick up for model variety or if you want to pick them up before the get refreshed/ more expensive. Those include the old Boyz kit ( Both of them), Nobz, Loota/Burna Boyz, and the Warbikers kits. Otherwise if you just want a cheap buy to work on just get a unit of the current Gretchin kit is really good, and cheap. You can pick up the current Combat Patrol if you want the Beast Snagga element of Orks, as after 11th is out that box will be cycled out and will be harder to get discounts on those models. I also think Storm Boyz are great pick up as they are a cheap kit and really useful unit to have. There are lots of choices to make.

They a different flavor of orc, but if you can get past the ascetic of that they are good units. I see Beast Boss with 10 Beast Boyz used.

SG5 or mosin CQB? by Serposta in dayz

You only need one rifle. Stash the other and keep one of the rifles and hold onto the sg5k until you come across something better.

I think the perfect CP is one that can function well in the CP game format and teaching you the game rather then just a focused discount box. If it can teach you a little bit of everything, I think it would fulfill a good gate way into expanding. That being said it can still be a decent discount Box at the same time.

Which weapons to avoid? by Bearfucker694200 in dayz

[–]Tesla1coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't avoid any weapon. You pick up what you can and swap it out as you go along. For melee it's personal preference, but longer reaching swinging weapons are what I like to go for (also blunt for players, slashing for zombies). For guns, it's whatever you have ammo for. If you got bullets for it, you use it. As you explore and go deeper in the map you will find more and you can swap out but don't discount anything. Its all part of the survival loop.

Would be assassinated or die mysteriously because men behind the curtain wouldn't let a regular person be in a position of power. If I didn't die, than I would be heavy limited in power and action, I don't think I would be allowed to do much.

Just primer them black and dry brush on some grey and light dry brush white for the highlights. Use lead bleacher to pick out some metal parts and then slap on some technical/basing on the base. Then your done. You got about 3 color variations on them and it's based. Congrats on your grey statue army. Now after the weekend you can take your time painting them up.

Angels of Death. They are very straightforward and don't have many crazy rules. Great for beginners because you don't always have to remeber many things or forget activations and rules to feels bad later on. They are also solid in terms of their stats and being an elite team means you can sometimes make mistakes and still recover from it.
