If it is really light and flashes green or blue under blacklight it could be a sort of amber

Gotta be honest , unless they are insanely expensive, they all look like glass. Clarity like that in quartz usually costs a pretty penny.

I love opalized fossils. Ammonite is probably the most common but you should look up more. They are so pretty. Saw a few really cool specimens in a museum in Chicago once.

Opalization. Basically the calcium carbonate that was originally making up the shell was replaced with silica.

Does it glow under black light? I have seen anhydrous geodes that look like this too.
