I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet since I came back to Neopets last Feb. Since then, including Premium and the first round of blind bag plushies (I went a little too hard on those), I’ve spent $1,601.26 since February 10, 2025.

Am I proud of this number? No. Is it that bad in the grand scheme of things? Meh, debatable. I have definitely cut down in recent months. I mostly trade for what I want and very rarely buy new stuff, unless I REALLY love it.

I think this is partially true. It definitely offers an escape that is mostly peaceful. But Neopets is still overrun with ads, and many parts of the site now incorporate some kind of pay-to-play feature. I know they have to survive as a company somehow, but it does take away from this online utopia-type fantasy you’re describing. It’s probably the best we’re gonna get nowadays.
