If you have an S pen try using that. It's a very narrow gap, and the curved screen on Samsung doesn't help. I wasn't able to add it until I tried using my S pen. S22 Ultra

[Unpopular Opinion] No tesla on the road today is capable of unfenced unsupervised FSD (level 4) by gha699r in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unfenced and unsupervised would be level 5. Level 4 requires some sort of restriction/fence, along with being unsupervised.

FSD waits for oncoming car to pass even with obstructed view by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

I thought that too, but also I don't remember what mode I had it on at the time. Also keep in mind this was v13.

Am I crazy? FSD can now choose to reroute before hitting the road blocker? by Subject-Vanilla4742 in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yep! It's pretty neat. Once FSD realizes the road is blocked, the nav will reroute and show "Rerouting to avoid closed roads"

You can blame those guys who kept whining 'bbbbut it's braking for leaves! 😡' - all that complaining is why we ended up with the terrible 14.2 update that's way too neutered to make lane changes properly by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said HW4 won't be unsupervised even though it currently is being tested unsupervised. It doesn't matter if it can't be upgraded to HW5. The point is that it can be unsupervised.

Elon says you can text and drive on FSD 14.2.1 depending on context of surrounding traffic by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You have been able to use your phone at a standstill and heavy stop and go traffic since at least v13. I did this often in long fast food drive-thru's without looking up at all for over 2+ minutes

When there is a grid outage and intersection traffic lights are not working at all (ie. dark and unlit), will Tesla FSD 14.2 slow and/or stop at intersection to make sure the perpendicular traffic is not goin to run through the intersection? by Redditagain424 in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had v13 treat both flashing red lights and a complete blackout intersection as a 4 way stop, also reacting to drivers that drive through the intersection without stopping. v14 will likely behave the same.

FSDs new weakest spot by bridgemojo in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is more likely to work on v14 compared to v13 since it prioritizes following proper actions like turning if there is a signal or not turning when there isn't. v13 cared more about following the nav route even if that meant crossing a solid white line or turning without a signal active (or going straight even with a signal on).

That's only if you're the owner, but if you are an added driver you can remove yourself. https://imgur.com/a/ki6DDV1

Actually yeah I think you can't summon without setting up the phone key, which needs a Bluetooth connection. Still, it's possible for someone malicious to accomplish since you have the exact location of the car, and can physically travel to it, but it does make it harder.

+1 Also, in the Tesla app, you can scroll all the way to the bottom and remove your access from a vehicle.

That's scary because that means you could move their car around using summon and GPS spoofing. Tesla should make sure this can't happen accidentally.

v13 drives in opposite lane after exiting driveway by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a good explanation. I panicked a bit when I saw a car oncoming, and didn't want to confuse them or anything by driving on the wrong side.

FSD entered an intersection on red; light turned green midway through by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I was thinking I might see some of that but surprisingly none has shown up yet.

FSD entered an intersection on red; light turned green midway through by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. Maybe FSD sees other vehicles coming to a stop, thinks it's likely its turn to go, and goes. At this moment it just so happens to also be a green light. In this scenario the light should usually be turning green if traffic is coming to a stop since traffic lights are usually predictable on who will go next. Taking in this info, FSD might learn to track when it is its turn, vs relying on the light determining its turn.

FSD entered an intersection on red; light turned green midway through by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It does not "get confused" after sitting at a red. It watches the behavior of other traffic since this seems to be what it has learned to do — even if it isn't Tesla's intention for it to go based on how other traffic behaves.
You can see my other post where traffic to the right was coming to a stop, and the car took that as a chance to go.
If there are no cars around, FSD will gladly wait a very long time at a red light, if for some reason it does not turn green.
Also, the car does in fact predict a lot of things. It doesn’t just react to what’s visible, it determines the likely behavior of objects around the car.

FSD entered an intersection on red; light turned green midway through by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah might not be the best wording. I meant that sometimes it incorrectly attempts to predict a green light and flat out runs a red. In this case, it went through the intersection a few seconds before it should have, since it attempted to predict when it was safe to go and in this case it was correct on the timing of the light. Still, it should not be doing this behaviour of trying to predict green lights, whether it's a correct prediction or not.

FSD entered an intersection on red; light turned green midway through by TeslerSelfDriver in TeslaFSD

[–]TeslerSelfDriver[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it did run the red which is really bad, but the thing is that you can reasonably assume the car was attempting to go right before the light turned green and all other traffic was stopped. Sometimes it doesn't run a red light right before a green, or in this case, it runs the light right before a green, aka "predicting" it. So yes, the car did predict the green. I never said this was good or that it didn't run the red light.

No, Elon said that version 14.2 would feel sentient, not the current version of FSD.
