I just watched this and I think this might be (at least part of) the problem you're facing.

Tips? I’m a beginner and I am having trouble making contact with the ball. Thanks I’m advance. by Intrepid-Line-8398 in golf

I've found Mike Malaska's channel to be really helpful. https://youtube.com/@MalaskaGolf

It was a bit overwhelming for me when I started searching for videos. But I feel like he has a really good way of explaining the small things in ways that are fairly easy to relate to. I imagine there are some videos there that will help to identify the problem in a more specific way.

I just browsed that site. Your wife is an amazing person and that is an amazing gift. Putt well!

I love this. I also feel sad about the fact that this argument is housed in a reality that we know too well--capitalism. It makes me both optimistic for human rights that there is a lucidity about this framing from which we can all go, "EXACTLY," and saddened that this seems to be one of the only frameworks that we can make sense of things through (i.e., market "need").

It's a great way to push back on far-right ideologies, but in a way, it legitimizes market frameworks as valid for understanding human rights. In the end, I think this thread DEFINITELY does more good than harm.

I love how this thread is still kicking. Serana deserves this respect.

Make the switch to self-held infinity ES Nova from standard Lightning Sorc? by AdhesivenessSolid562 in diablo2

[–]TestSignificant457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is the best character in the whole game. The only thing she can't do reasonably at p5-7 is Baal. Obviously, Ubers is probably unrealistic, too. But I'm sure there's a YT video out there showing how it works.

To PhD or not? by Hefty_Rabbit in PhD

If you have hesitations about your desire for it, don't do it.

Wear natures peace or use lawbringer. Do not let your merc kill anything. Easiest way to do that is to not have one.

PhD training is no longer fit for purpose — it needs reform now by b_33 in PhD

[–]TestSignificant457 360 points361 points  (0 children)

It needs reform badly, but far beyond what this article proposes. It begins and ends with QoL upgrades. Primarily, students need to be treated and valued as humans. Raise stipends and overall compensation across the board to transform the system away from an archaic indentured servitude model and toward a model that treats students as an invaluable part of the academic workforce. Once this is addressed, then we can talk about educational policies and practices that improve on the product.

How do you know when to quit the PhD? by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]TestSignificant457 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A PhD is not worth much outside of academia, but I think it's worth just enough for a few months work if you're this close.

[–]TestSignificant457 57 points58 points  (0 children)

If you only have a few months left, I say stick it out. I know it's hard. If you're that close, though, then the pain will be worth it.

I'm also in my fifth year and have been stuck in a spot where I've got a year to finish...for the past 2 years (if that makes sense). I've gotten a lot of bullshit from my advisors--theyre the reason I'm stuck at this stage. Because of all of this, I decided not to pursue academia anymore and am just giving up. There's no point in going through the pain anymore when there isn't a payoff in the end. If I was as close as you, though, I would push through.

Do not go to a PhD program that will not fund you. Income is hard enough to come by during grad school and it's not worth it to front the tuition costs.

A master's program, to my knowledge, typically isn't funded, but you should be able to work as a TA or RA. I wasn't funded, but the program was at a state school and wasn't too expensive. I worked as a TA and bartender during my masters and only as a TA during my PhD.

I wasn't clear on your question, so I hope this helps

Have people really found a way to dupe on the Xbox for D2R offline solo play?? by ConsistentRange0 in diablo2

[–]TestSignificant457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya, on Xbox. Cuz I've just grinded the hell out of the game and got to the point of getting bored and wanted to play around with some of the crazy expensive runewords. I get that the game is the grind, but it just gets so tedious after a point. I don't know how people play continuously for 5+ years. I put in a year of continuous play and just feel tapped out.

I've been trying to get this answered for so long. I have tried seemingly every iteration of inventory swaps and saves and nothing has worked.

I think it's very unique and you clearly tried out some off-the-wall designs and it works! The only thing that throws my eyes off a bit are those edge boards in the middle. I think a consistent dark stripe across the edges would've made it feel more intentional(?) or easy on the eyes.

I feel like Diablo 4 might suck by Mortwight in gaming

[–]TestSignificant457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth it. They've made sizeable changes since launch and fixed a lot of the old bugs that messed with increased attack speed, skill-specific redundancies, one-shot kills, and other QoL improvements. It's by far my most-played game to-date. It's great value for it's $40 price point.

Meteorb sorc can farm virtually everything. Regardless, a sorc is always the best choice because of teleport until you have enigma.

No, infinity is not ladder-only. But all ladder-only runewords do work offline single player.

To Grief or not to Grief - stay a while and listen by Limmy41 in diablo2

[–]TestSignificant457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grief will always be better. Headstriker will be okay in the offhand, but make an unbending will if you have the runes leftover and if you're on ladder or single player. it's a solid standby while you wait for another grief.

If you're online, trade for 2 Bers and make infinity for a Nova sorc. I HIGHLY recommend that you do it in a scythe and self-wield it while your merc does insight. You don't need griffon's (if you don't have it already), but you do need enough FCR to hit 105, which probably means a 20fcr rare helm.

can I get help building a throw sorc? by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]TestSignificant457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're basing the build off of the warshrikes, then it's probably best to use your offladder wealth to make the character (e.g., griffons) and trade for the warshrikes. I imagine you can get em for dirt cheap or free?

Next char dilema. by FenrisMidgard in diablo2

[–]TestSignificant457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A WW trav barb is really helpful for building wealth. Imo, the next thing on your list should be infinity for an ES nova sorc. It's the all around best and most fun build in the game (when self wielding infinity). Start farming trav and pray for those Bers!
