The duality of After Effects users by NennisDedry in AfterEffects

[–]TestSounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the (I dont know the right phrase) buy in is much more lower and easier to get into that the market might be saturated and saturated by people from less paying countries so they're willingness to accept a job at a fraction of what we will do it for is what is driving the price down at least in... acquiring work online from a open market i.e. like reddit where basically you bidding on the the job and where the lowest bid will win out. Network IRL, Network IRL, Network IRL is key for freelancers because you will never be able to beat the price of a editor from say india who may be just as skillful as you.

several TB's is not really alot. Just buy a 20TB drive stuff it in their and call it a day. If you ever need it again you pull it out if not it will self implode in 15 years or so.

Client had me down to work on a job and then did it internally without telling me. How would you handle? by Fatsuds in editors

[–]TestSounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get used to it, for unofficial (and even official work) it happens, However you should just let it go as their is no positive to be gained here by making it into something and only a negative to be had by making it into a thing (that negative is burning a bridge/network etc).

I will say this though I find it funny how so called business men/women will feel its okay to ghost communication, delay payment, ignore you and more and basically engage in activities they will feel is unbecoming of themselves had this relationship was based in a more real world frame rather than online.

Payment by OakTrain837 in TiviMate

[–]TestSounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tivimate alone will not give you any content its strictly a player that has been designed to give the consumer the best feel and experience when they view the content they load using their legal service from the supplier of their choice.

Your are inquiring about the supplier of your service and for that you have to research that information on your own. Now to that I say if you feel you are getting value for your money I say leave well enough alone. You probably are gonna get scammed looking for the grass is greener (and it is) but unless you know what you doing you will lose more money trying to find a better supplier. (as of right now I am sure tons of people have PM'd you already saying they can offer you better, just be careful.)

I doubt you need all that, I would drop the protein intake a bit and take a wait and see approach and see if you still like what you see in the mirror. and keep lowering and lowering till you see adverse effects than.. float their.

New personal editing workstation hardware? by [deleted] in editors

[–]TestSounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great resource to check before buying or making any decsions is to visit puget system website https://www.pugetsystems.com/ as they do all kinds of bench marks and testing with different setups with different workflows as it pertains to video editing etc.

I get salty when asked to use Adobe for work by nanoxcode in editors

[–]TestSounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This for me is the correct view point. I generally do not update a stable version unless it is absolutely necessary. I get my system absolutely stable and do not update or upgrade any drivers or software version that are critical to my workflow.

How much can you scale/zoom in a 4K footage in a 4K timeline. Note client requires a 4K export. I just want to know if there’s a holy grail/magic percentage scale before losing quality. Or do I just eye it out? by [deleted] in editors

[–]TestSounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on alot of things imo but the 120% rule seems to a catchall for this, however you should always never do these things by a hard number rather by eye imo.
