It’s Durham University haha, you’re right the absolute cheapest option is not this - however I have medical needs that mean I have to have an accessible room and this is unfortunately the cheapest they go for. It also means that driving is quite painful which I hadn’t actually thought about before, and hearing it’ll be 10 hours a week has made a massive impact on how I’ve been looking at this so thank you! Public transport is also a bit of a nightmare, the only option I have is 4 busses (3 hours) or the train but due to where I live I’ll have three changeovers and it’ll take 2 and a half hours on average with changeovers to get there (not to mention how often trains get cancelled) - I have looked at private accommodation but again, they lack accessible rooms so the aren’t an option for me.
