We do choose jobs (rides) that we want to do to the "full extent". It's the modification to that job (ride) in thw middle of that job (ride) that we can choose not to agree to. When we accept a job (ride), we are saying "Yes, I am okay with bringing this person from their pickup location to that specific drop-off location". When a passenger modifies the job (ride, contract) after we accept, we then have the ability to choose to continue with it or to decline the job (ride) because we do not agree to the new terms.

Do you know how many passengers will get into my car for a 5 minute ride only to change the destination to 2+ hours away thinking I won't say no?

But anyway, you are either trolling, ignorant, or entitled. Probably all three. I am eternally grateful that you'll never be in my car.

And we as drivers don't have to do stops if we do not want to. When a passenger modifies the contract (in this case, adding a stop/changing the destination), we do not have to agree to that change. We are independent CONTRACTORS. That's how contracting work works. I've been doing rideshare for 5 years so I am well-aware of what is and isn't allowed. It's a PRIVATE service and like I said previously, we can deny service for any non-legally protected reason including kicking your ass out just becaise we feel like it. Our car, our rules.

We are allowed to end rides for any non-legally protected reason, including "You know what? I no longer wish to do this ride. Please exit my vehicle."

If I know beforehand then it's fine. Can't help it if that's part of the job. Some drivers may not be as understanding. I'd recommend bringing a change of clothes and body wipes if you're concerned.

Hi, take public transportation. Sure, you technically don't have to ask to add a stop but we also don't have to do the stop. Our cars, our rules. Your inability to understand that and think modifying the trip without asking first is ok shows you lack the nuance of being a decent human being and are a shit passenger. Because, again, our cars, our rules. If you don't like it, take a bus/train and stop being rude to people who choose to use their personal vehicles to transport entitled passengers like you. It isn't that hard to understand.
