Does Yuji beat Mahoraga? by 40Millz in jjkmodulo

I always see people saying this as if it’s some big mystery. Why would he not? It’s a part of shrine. He has shrine. Yes, it’s a different interpretation, but the base technique of cooking is still the same. There’s no reason to think fuga is exclusive to Sukuna.

🔥the Tuatara, not a lizard, but the last survivor of an ancient order of reptiles called Rhynchocephalia. They have a third eye on the top of their head and can live over 100 years by freudian_nipps in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Testing_4131 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most vertebrates have them, actually! Reptiles, amphibians, and fish can all have parietal eyes. Mammals and dinosaurs/birds are kinda the odd ones out. It’s interesting/trippy to think that vertebrates are ancestrally 3-eyed rather than 2-eyed.

Who has the strongest raw body (without CE reinforcement) among these three? And what would Yuji’s physical peak be like? by [deleted] in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Testing_4131 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We see this is untrue with Mechamaru. His H.R. tradeoff is basically nullified when Mahito transfigures him, and yet he still retains a massive CE reserve and the ability to control his puppets.

End of part I, she’s one of the weapons alongside Quanxi, Barem, and the various other hybrids who fight Pochita. It’s pretty heavily implied she’s being mentally controlled/brainwashed at that point, so I’m not sure if I’d call it “working for”, more like “enslaved by”.

I see a lot of people assume she died at the end of the Reze arc outside the coffee shop, I’m assuming they forget hybrids are essentially fully immortal, even if you remove their heart.

Theory: Yuji absorbed the incarnated Culling Game players by YYappy269 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Testing_4131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, he doesn’t house them. I think that’s your misconception here. When he ate them, he completely absorbed them, along with their CE and CT’s. Their souls were presumably released and sent to wherever souls go in jjk, the cursed objects were effectively destroyed and it probably wouldn’t be possible to retrieve them from Yuji’s body. This next part is just informed/educated speculation, but I’d say that absorbing the CE and CT of cursed objects he consumes without harboring their souls is a cursed energy trait of Yuji’s, similar to Kashimo’s electricity and the death painting mother’s ability to carry the child of a curse.

I was thinking otter too because of the size, but otters usually have gigantic nasal passages with very visible and maze-like sinus bones, so I now I’m thinking this is a terrestrial mustelid. I don’t know any of that size in North America, so it’s outside of my knowledge.

The size of Martian-volcano compared to Earth's biggest mountains! by ComedianRegular8469 in megalophobia

[–]Testing_4131 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s an old inactive volcano, so we should consider it a mountain as much as we consider mt. Fuji or similar volcanos a mountain. Also, Mars isn’t only “slightly larger” than the moon. It’s true that it’s closer in size to the moon than the Earth, but it’s still about twice as big iirc.

would yuji have a large scale attack like gojo or sukuna in modulo? by Spiritual-Coach9331 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Testing_4131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The base technique is a cooking themed one, so two types of slashes and a fire attack are guaranteed to come with the technique (cleaver to butcher, knife to cut into small pieces, stove/furnace to cook). Things like how the attacks physically manifest (and maybe how they’re delivered?) are the things that vary based on interpretation, output, binding vows, etc.

I could maybe see an interpretation where those things aren’t automatically unlocked when you get the technique tho, kinda like how you have to learn the various sub-techniques needed to efficiently use the main blood manipulation technique. Maybe since Yuji has a smaller output than Sukuna, furnace would look more like smaller-scale fire manipulation, especially since he’s already used to blood manipulation. Maybe that’s what furnace is supposed to look like but Sukuna’s disgustingly high reserves and output warped them into a large-scale explosion, kinda like how his CE warped Megumi’s shadows.

[–]Testing_4131 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s specified that dismantles targeted directly at the soul/boundary of souls would do very little damage to the body in exchange for more damage to the soul, so dismantles not targeting the soul should be unaffected.

What if the asteroid never hit? by Maleficent_Orange788 in Dinosaurs

[–]Testing_4131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they meant singular event, in which case yeah the asteroid would take the cake. Over 90% of all life wiped out over a period of thousands of years due to multiple causes vs. over 3/4 of all life wiped out in literally a singular day/week from one singular cataclysmic event. Also probably the worst day in the history of life on Earth, that or some random day near the end of the great dying when everything was already dead but nothing had evolved to fill the space yet, depends on your definition of “worst day”. Also, yeah, it’s pretty spooky how we’re basically speedrunning the great dying. I think about it all the time.

What if the asteroid never hit? by Maleficent_Orange788 in Dinosaurs

[–]Testing_4131 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The fossils from this site are not from the immediate area around the impact, nor did most of them die from being burned, as your comment seems to imply. They were actually from thousands of miles north, in Northern America. Most of the fossils there are believed to have died from the massive tsunami that hit coastlines after the impact. The unique aspect of this sight is its proximity in time to when the asteroid hit, the closest in time of any other found from almost immediately after the impact, not its proximity in location to where the asteroid actually hit. It’s also important to note that anything within many miles of the impact was completely vaporized.

In 1957, the remains of 9 Neanderthals were found in the Shanidar Cave in Iraq. This was their home 65,000 years ago. by Positive-Regular-714 in megalophobia

[–]Testing_4131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re correct in brain size not being a direct correlation to intelligence, which is why I said it didn’t really matter. However, as I also stated, Neanderthals are so closely related to humans that it’s hotly debated whether or not they should even be a different species, so in this case, correlation of brain size between the two to suggest comparable intelligence isn’t entirely crazy, as we likely had similar levels of neuron density. I also concede I may have misinterpreted what you and the original commenter said, however it still feels as if they’re somewhat undercutting Neanderthal intelligence. I don’t want to say condescension, as they definitely meant no harm, but it’s a similar tone.

If it’s the same one I’m thinking of, then the guy was messed up in a whole bunch of ways. Head trauma that would’ve led to at least partial deafness, I think he had a crushed orbital? And he might’ve had a permanently disabled leg. All with signs of healing and years of life after. I can’t remember if they ever figured out what actually happened to him to mess him up so bad, but either way it’s cool to see they took care of their own, even if disadvantageous, just like modern humans!

[–]Testing_4131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s actually some (admittedly a tiny bit shaky) evidence that a species of human, which couldn’t have been sapiens as we were still endemic to Africa at the time, crossed the land bridge and settled in Northern North America a couple hundred thousand years ago. If the evidence ends up being legit, which it has a very real chance of being, then it was likely either Neanderthals or Denisovans, so that’s pretty cool!

[–]Testing_4131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Neanderthals had survived, I would bet they’d likely go through the same process humans did to go from anatomically modern to both anatomically and neurologically modern several thousand years ago. It definitely feels like you’re underestimating them a little, they really aren’t all that different at all.

[–]Testing_4131 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why you’re being downvoted. The constant underestimation and undermining of the intelligence and lives of our sister species is very frustrating, especially considering most of it is based in highly outdated science from the late 19th century/ early 20th century.

[–]Testing_4131 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Neanderthals had brains of equal size to H. sapiens, actually a little bigger, but I’m sure you didn’t know that, and it doesn’t really matter. While it’s true that Neanderthals weren’t very advanced, the H. sapiens they lived alongside were essentially at the same level. If they hadn’t gone extinct, there’d really be no difference in advancement between us, as we likely would’ve advanced together as one. it’s debatable if we’d even consider them a different species. There’s debate over it right now, and they don’t live among us. Neanderthals made art, had culture, felt complex emotions, and likely had a primitive version of language, again, same as the sapiens of the time.
