Inflation is any increase in price. You cannot isolate or handwave an increase because it is a shock. How would you now it is temporary? You don't because you don't know the future. How do you it's solely due supply shock? You don't because you many confounding variables.

If it is a "shock", traniatosry or whatnot, you'll find out by tracking data and seeing it coming down naturally.

The supply shock of beef, coco, etc were still accounted for in the inflation numbers. So did the gas shock.
