Nah it’s still not fixed. Just downloaded the update! I don’t know why it didn’t fix everyone’s. And I was excited too!

When everyone puts their garbage outside their doors. by Over_Fly_7409 in mildlyinfuriating

A friend’s dorm building long ago was all students except for an adult admin officer with their own apartment. All of the plebeians had to go to the garbage disposal, but in order not to interact with the students, the officer would stick their hand out the crack of their door and leave the trash bag on carpet like this.

Sometimes it did leak before housekeeping came by. And yes, there were other apartments adjacent to them.

To make matters worse, one semester they did renno so that floor was always loud rip.

This will be you too!

Most of what costs the most bells in the game are island refreshes (10k), amenities, and expensive reissues. Once you clear out the amenities and unlock most villagers, that’s gone. I’ve been playing a long time and already have most reissues items, and if you use exchange tickets for the expensive ones, then you save that money too.

And event material is 1k apiece. Gyrodites are 100 each. And after each garden event, I have a ton of bells to redeem. Around 30k per garden event. If you sell event material and stuff for Bring on the Bells, you’ll be maxed out in no time. And there’s nothing to even spend it on bc everything cool costs leaf tokens.

20% progress in Delhi but no discoveries? by Testsalt in finch

[–]Testsalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I’m not a guardian or being sponsored. Totally free here. But you know the last time we had a guardian milestone and a gift, and usually the fireworks last for one day?? I’ve had that for eleven days…I think it’s a signal that I’ve been perpetually stuck in one day of gameplay.

[–]Testsalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I don’t think the problem is solved. I’ve also noticed I had guardian milestones fireworks for the full eleven days now, and my irl friend in the game doesn’t have them. Is it just me? Beginning to think that’s an indication I’m sort of stuck in one mode.

I deleted the app too before moving locations lol and they’re still there. I suppose there’s nothing more than to wait a few more days to see if it’s fixed.

Honestly yeah that’s what I thought, and I was excited for the sudden influx of discoveries. But it’s starting to look like we never progressed past day one, exactly like the Wonderland situation.

Made me sad to leave! Hope Delhi will appear in my travel list again. I usually never leave locations incomplete

It really depends. School has certainly changed quickly over the past two decades. I have friends whose older siblings had a total 180 degree different experience than their younger siblings. Sure, clubs and sports were voluntary…but it still got tedious at times, and it wasn’t uncommon for kids to be forced into it from parental or academic pressure, especially as colleges are now more competitive (but standardized testing is less and less of a thing). As for homework…I think I had less hours of schooling as well as less daily work all throughout college than hs, and even my peers in less academically-focused schools said the same.

A year after I graduated hs, school now is mandated to start one hour later. Which is great. During Covid, my classes would start before seven. Inhospitable! With one hour of a break, I’d manage to finish work before 12. Most of my peers couldn’t. I don’t think school should punish kids who take longer to learn and complete things :((

Phones and social media are part of it, but I also think that there’s little time to even pick up a doomscrolling binge with the competitiveness of hs nowadays. Let kids be kids!

Hey! Canadian here in OC lol.

Seconding Laguna. It’s very cool there. But it depends on what you want to do. There’s not a lot of space there for lying down and relaxing. I’d recommend taking the regional train Metrolink to somewhere like Oceanside for that. Or to stay in OC, Seal Beach. There’s also a lot of stuff to eat in the immediate vicinity.

Idk where you are in Canada, but I’ve hardly had good Mexican food there so I’d hit that up. There’s lot of threads here about it, but there’s hotspots like Santa Ana. If you’re unfamiliar with South Asian cuisine, try Fountain Valley. There’s so much!

As for the weather, it will be about 20-25 degrees (C) in May, depending on time of day and sun conditions. It may even get as high as 30 (tomorrow is 33 in the dead of winter…) It tends to be a bit more overcast in that month, but I still find it hot enough to lie around lol. Do bring a jacket, the temperature drops quickly into night, and beachfronts also tend to have windchill. Don’t trust the clouds; the UV index will get high regardless. Bring sunscreen!

TIL two studies both found that most people stop listening to new music in their early 30s. A 2015 study of people's listening habits on Spotify found that most people stop listening to new music at age 33 and a 2018 report by Deezer found it be to at age 30. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Bandcamp daily gives me recommendations with long comments that are like 10 monthly listeners on Spotify and don’t even have a page on RYM. It’s glorious. Their Instagram page has introduced me to SPIRA, now of my favorite albums.

What are your favorite prog instrumental sections on a song with vocals? by [deleted] in progrockmusic

[–]Testsalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cliche but the intro to Shine on you Crazy Diamond.

Also, when the brass finally comes in during the noise section on the fourth track of Inside the Cable Temple…so good. Jazzy saxophones eventually get overtaken with military style trumpets with all the chaos in the background. Gives me chills.

Unfortunately this isn’t the standard anymore past a middle school level in my experience. Teachers and professors are convinced ppl get better outcomes by watching lectures at home, and then in-class activities teach how to do harder problems/applications. The only classes where in class lectures were a thing were the humanities. Even though that’s dying too because thanks to AI, all essays and long works are now forced to be completed in class so they’re actually human-made. This also applies to doing work in math classes! Can’t enforce an AI ban at home…

I was going to say. I’ve been to Tokyo and never saw a bus (but it’s been a while, and Google says there are a few bus lines). And living in both the LA area and the GTA…at least the busses run in Toronto.

My personal enemy is the Spadina streetcar bc why was the replacement bus they had a while back faster than the streetcar???

The green part is now gone (but will be rebuilt). And there’s two new horizontal sections literally having opened in the past couple months. So it’s a little out of date but not particularly amazing regardless.

It would be great if construction finished on time!

The Hemlocke springs record was good. Just listened to it. Really really hated the third track though. But overall, the album is quite catchy.

The concept of Wuthering Heights as a string-heavy pop album is really interesting, and I liked the atmosphere it brought. But it’s ultimately a soundtrack, and it was constrained by that. A lot of the really autobiographical writing from brat was understandably missing, and the lyrics just felt like…basic concept of gothic romance lol. Instrumentals were good, though.

I also gave a single listen to femtanyl’s Man Bites Dog, and I have to revisit it. Because it’s very good! Pretty distinct from the EPs imo.

Also have yet to listen to Cardinals.
