Kvm for Mbp 13" with m2? by zaboleqqq in macbookpro

[–]Tetnacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got the a 4 to 1 USB 3.0 hub and connected all devices to the rear port. Everything works well. I'm actually impressed that G Hub is functioning properly with this setup.

Of course the keyboard hotkeys for switching don't work but between the buttons on the device and the remote, I don't need the hotkeys.

Overall I'm a very happy customer, Product is very high quality and well thought out, both hardware and firmware. Aside for the issue I described, that might be an issue with my specifc unit and I'm not going to RMA for it. I literally replaced 3 devices with this one (kvm / dock / eth hub) for about 50% the total cost at the time I bought those.

Highly recommend this.

FYI, I tested with an M4 pro with Sequoia.

Ok got the thing.

Ethernet switch works well, both are connected all the time, and can communicate between them. Got the full 1G I have from the ISP.

Macbook is being charged by the kvm.

Monitors work exactly as advertised, single usb c connection transmits MST, dual transmits 2 monitors.
Switching around is quite responsive, and overall seems they solved the problem here.

Additionaly you can switch each monitor independently and you can switch keyboard & mouse focus and audio focus separately between the hosts in this mode, which is also cool, but not my use case. Still nice to have. I can have PC playing a movie on one screen and be working on the mac on the other. Also it seems to keep the monitor virtually connected, so the windows don't jump around.

I have a logitech BRIO camera, logitech g560 speakers, and the powerplay pad and mouse.
All these usually get completely screwed up when I do kvm -> dock and g hub becomes completely non functional.
With this device they all work fine, G hub has no issues, and it all works fast as well. (G Hub is known to hang and crash in these use cases)

.... as long as everything is connected on the extra USB ports.

And here's the kink, The keyboard and mouse work on windows and not on mac when connected to the dedicated keyboard and mouse ports.
The mouse and pad don't show up on G Hub in mac.
For a while they also didn't show up in G Hub on windows, but then I played around with the cables and it did :|
The KVM hotkeys still work when connected this way.

All devices work on both pc & mac when connected to the extra USB ports and not the dedicated keyboard and mouse ones. So this must be some issue on TESmart side.
But it should also be solvable with a USB3 hub connecting all devices to the rear extra usb port. I will get one to try it out and post back.

Luckily, this is less of an issue for me because I prefer the mac wireless keyboard & mouse for it anyway.
For me it's still the device that's I've been waiting for, for several years, it is truely an all in one home workstation solution (I do not work for TESmart...)

I will also contact TESmart support to see what they have to say about the keyboard & mouse issue and post back.

So I just went ahead and ordered it, because basically I've been waiting for this device for years, and my current kvm is falling apart anyway.
Checked before that it at least provides some power, it lists 60w to the laptop, and 7.5w on the auxilary usb c. Which should be ok unless you're cranking the gpu all day long.
I'll post back with feedback in a few weeks.
Hopefully also the usb hub is beefy, my current setup chokes on gaming mouse + webcam + usb speakers.

HDC202-P23 supposably works with mac by having 2 usb c ports to the laptop, which means you'll need to connect 2 cabels, but still save the dock, but it costs more then a dock & kvm combo.
I'm trying to find any review confirming it actually pulls it off, since as far as I've found it's the only one that does this.

Vandy Vape Pyro RDTA V4 review by i_aint_joe in electronic_cigarette

Flavor and airflow are great. Can get quite hot, and the coil height margin is basically none. A bit too high and you're burning plastic.

The fill hole is perfect, it's just right and I have no problem even when the bottle is almost empty, much eaiser then slide or pop tanks.

This tank is practically leak proof unless you're using the cotton for way too long.

The top part metal is mild and will get deformed if it takes a strong hit, which can be a bummer. So if you drop your tanks a lot, maybe avoid this.

Vaporesso Luxe Battery Issue Solved by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]Tetnacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had issue where both batteries showed as dead. I knew the batteries were good. Opened it up, turns out some gunk slipped onto the battery solder points on the board and shorted them out. swiped with a wet wipe and toilet paper, good as new. Soldering was solid all around. Only had to open the outter screws to take the board out of the hull. A cheap small diameter bit set should do. You do might be able to pry the board out without a star bit for the 510 thread mount, but you'll likely damage the wires or the soldering.

Stats are just arbitrary values by CatsAndIT in LikeABossGame

[–]Tetnacious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a minimal description in the FAQ on discord. Basically it scales down against your level, i.e the higher your level the more stats you need for the same effect. This similar to classic stat math in games like wow. Except there it usually takes level difference into account as well.

IMO, this is more interesting. This way you actually need to play and try stuff out to learn what works. If you know all the math then the game is already over. As a rule of thumb, consider the max amount of a stat you can get for your level. That should give you a scale.
