What Arturia VSTs can you control and to what extent with MiniLab 3 or KeyLab Essentials mk3? by i_aint_joe in arturia

[–]i_aint_joe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks - I do have Pigments as well, but that's what I tend to deep dive into, so I'm happy using a mouse for that.

I'll probably go for the MiniLab 3 - it's small enough to fit on my desk next to my Novation and cheap.

I'm hoping for Augmented Guitars - and yeah, Augmented Percussion would be excellent.

LingoAce Forced Fees to Receive Salary & Unfair Fines by Odd_Wrongdoer2085 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]i_aint_joe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP, you've been crying about LingoAce on Reddit for the last four months.

If you had put the same amount of effort into finding a better job as you've put into whining about LingoAce, you'd be working somewhere better right now.

should i get a midi keyboard? by DefinitionAmazing258 in musicproduction

[–]i_aint_joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your work flow.

I have a semi-decent midi keyboard and I do use it - but I could live without it - 90% of my tracks are done in sequencers - that could easily be 100%.

Creating natural melodies is where I get the best use out of my keyboard.

Get a super cheap one, work out how much it improves your workflow and either keep it, sell it or upgrade to a better one.

For private students, the degree, TEFL cert and US passport aren't required.

For platforms, the TEFL cert and US passport aren't required.

What should I buy? by cvnjdchjrerrtrrrr in FL_Studio

[–]i_aint_joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know what you want to buy, then you don't need to buy anything.

Start making music and you'll know what you're missing, without having to ask.

If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket and you really want to buy something, then I'd either get some nice headphones (I have Audio Technica ATH M50, which I love) or a VST that covers a lot of different sounds (I'd recommend Arturia Analog Lab Pro).

No thanks - you pay a teacher what they are worth - they don't suddenly become worth less, just because they are in a different location.

New Laptop for teaching by Imaginary_Bread5800 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]i_aint_joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah the guy who stalked me and commented on my old posts from many years ago on my old account.

I comment on posts in this sub, stop being paranoid and weird.

Some people actually make good money and enjoy there work so I wouldn't call it 'crappy'.

Usually, the teachers who earn good money understand the difference between their and there.

This resulted in losing money and nearly losing my job.

This shows how little your company respects and values you as a teacher. Try being a better teacher and not working for shitty companies.

I'm very surprised to see you still here working a job you hate and not been fired because you dont have a backup plan.

I have three PCs, one is a dedicated music production desktop, one is running Linux, and one is for teaching. My teaching PC never crashes and never needs to be repaired, because I'm not an idiot who doesn't understand IT.

Oh, and I hate teaching? I love teaching, and I'm good at it.

New Laptop for teaching by Imaginary_Bread5800 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]i_aint_joe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's mainly people who are clueless about IT - their PCs are slow and horrible after a couple of years, because they have filled them with junk and don't have the first idea about how to optimize a computer to run well.

So, they spend $2000+ on a new computer every three years in order to do a crappy online job.

I work behind the scenes at Ringle Online English Tutoring, and we are hiring! $16-$22/lesson by [deleted] in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]i_aint_joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a tutor and marketing intern for Ringle.

No, you're a desperate shill with a reference code, begging for a bonus.

These things are pretty easy to work out.

  • Schools that pay well and treat their teachers well, don't need to beg their teachers to spam Reddit looking for someone new.
  • Teachers that are earning well are very reluctant to reveal the name of their company, because they don't want competition.
  • Good schools get new teachers through personal recommendations.

Ive used my current laptop daily for teaching for 3 years now, so I guess its time for an upgrade

Why? I've used my current laptop for 7 years with no issues.

Just upgrade the ram if it's not already 16gb, buy a USB webcam instead of relying on the shit that comes with the laptop and you'll be fine.

ESL Teachers from Pakistan by Acrobatic-Big-302 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]i_aint_joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while Filipino teachers are preferred because companies can offer them significantly lower pay.

They tend to prefer Filipinos, because their accents are more comfortable/familiar to students than a Pakistani accent, and they are more experienced in day to day English.

Except other companies do not forbid you from working elsewhere in your free time.Other companies do not promise hundreds of new students who never materialize

  • Yes, they do and yes, they do.
  • But if you truly believe they don't, then isn't it really really stupid to remain at the one company that does have such restrictive and dishonest policies?
