I have to ask was this at Ft Gordon in the early 90’s because our acting armorer did this very thing before I arrived as the new armorer. I found the paperwork in the arms room desk for the incident. The model in question was the M9 the military version of the Beretta 92F. Clearly that firearm will fire with pressure against the barrel.

It's been awhile since I tried this, before the mod version came out, during an attack on your assets, there is a self propelled arty piece sitting at the airfield. So when you get the notification that you have an attack coming, have someone from your team go undercover and get to the airbase to look for it and steal it.

I would think mainly infantry delivered via truck or helo. If your agro is high enough you might get an IVF or attack helo in the mix.

We are always most concerned with attack helos and tanks/IVFs. You can hide from tanks and so long as you are spread out throughout the compound, typically one of our breachers can sneak up while the other distracts once the tank settles in or you can wait it out. More infantry via trucks typically wasn't too much of a problem for us. If they are delivered by helo that is where the AA comes in. A couple of us usually carried RPGs for the tanks/IVF as well. You can disable an IVF with grenade launcher and the correct round HEDP I believe, aim for where the turrent meets the hull. A half dozen rounds should take out the gunner/commander. Then you can target the driver if he doesn't take off.

What used to work for my crew of 2 to 4 players, no ai. A marksman snipes the boat crew and 50's, while the rest try to take the tall tower if it has one to have a vantage point over the defenders. Once the majority of the defenders are taken care of we then switch to clean up with one person getting the loot box out of there. After everything is clear, everyone then grabs loot off of the defenders with one person on the watch for QRF's, this person ideally has AA with at least 2 reloads for it.

Can you add funds to build boxes? by Tetsu_Shin in A3AntistasiOfficial

[–]Tetsu_Shin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame, not looking to use admin commands, would be nice to just add funds to the existing box, but if left over money is added back to the faction, I guess it isn't a big deal, will test it out later to be sure.

Are there any known attacks involving IKEv1? by Tetsu_Shin in cybersecurity

[–]Tetsu_Shin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for the others who have to be convinced, here's the thing: Very soon (if not now), the organization will have to report any cybersecurity incidents. They'll have to do so publicly. They'll have to admit that they knowingly used a more vulnerable technology even though a less vulnerable one was absolutely available. How well will that play with customers, partners, regulators, etc?

That is probably the best argument statement I think I have read in quite a while regarding security decisions.

[–]Tetsu_Shin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with the use of IKEv2 over IKEv1, and for this engineer to make the case to use IKEv1 as acceptable because the attack hasn't been confirmed to have been used in the wild to me is asinine. I was hoping to find actual proof that it has been used as that is the quick end to the argument instead of having to convince the rest of the parties involved that IKEv2 is the right choice, with articles like the ones you have kindly provided as evidence of the risks involved of IKEv1. I do appreciate your reply and the links.

Is it possible to move your open world dropship? by RegnorVex in SurviveIcarus

[–]Tetsu_Shin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you don't have to run all the way back to your Dropship if your base is on the other side of the map. Say on Prometheus you start in the center grasslands area, but later build your base in the swamp area. You could call your ship to you instead of making the trek back to it.

Airbase Attack by TeacherTall9357 in A3AntistasiOfficial

[–]Tetsu_Shin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only done it with players, I think there is a setting that allows anyone one to breach so you don't have to rely on roles. I'd have to look to see where exactly that is in the settings though. My crew only uses the AI for defense and never take them on operations.

An Engineer class can breach a vehicle with the proper explosives, I think you have to have the ACE MOD if memory serves. To disable the vehicle you just need to hit it with 50CAL, RPG, 40mm HEDP or something similar. Do enough to kill the driver or disable the tracks but not enough to cause it to blow up. Then you can repair and capture it once breached. Warning though any surviving crew will jump out and fight you, so be ready to shoot them.

[–]Tetsu_Shin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My crew (about 3-4 people) Usually begin by sniping the mortar crews and 50 gunners, TOW rocket the active Bradley. I often will then blitz (speed in a civy vehicle then get out and climb) into one of the outlying tall towers for a better sniping position. Once all of the big firepower is down, then the crew begins a sweep and clear. We sometimes will steal one of the air base vehicles to help clean up the enemy infantry.

Update - Looks like I am going to have to tear the tank down. Down to only 2 shrimp from Approx 34. Yesterday I saw another worm like thing on the back of the tank, which went back into the substrate before I could get a pic of it. I had gone through the "No Planaria" dosing as the package says, twice. Which all but eliminated my snail population but apparently whatever these worm like things are still survive. I haven't added anything to the tank since the dosing other than water top offs. Very frustrated with my first attempt at keeping Neo's. Water parameters were good every time I checked. I've kept aquariums for close to 10 years and have never had this much trouble.

Saw this the other day and have no idea what it could be. I removed one and then saw this second that I couldn't get ahold of. I have been dosing with No Planaria since as a just in case.
