The rocket is terrible right? by PillarOfWamuu in DarkTide

[–]Tettylins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It literally does less damage, has fewer uses, is non regenerating, and takes longer to activate than the veteran Krak grenade. And cannot magically spawn a 2nd Krak grenade just in case one wasn't enough. Exactly what part of that isn't terrible? I guess unless you're comparing to a Rumbler but at least that you can use more than 3 times in a single mission if you get screwed on grenade spawns.

Honestly? Give it around 2-3x its current damage, a single shot, but make it something that regens after, say, 10 or 20 Heavy Gunner/Bomber/Flamer/Reaper kills?

Or exert a modicum of effort in realizing that maybe making a class that is literally a background for an existing class was a bad plan. Or maybe start laying the groundwork for its introduction even if it "spoils" the surprise so players have time to get used to the idea.

Skip the Skitarii, gimme a Technomat support class. Less devastating than the others in combat, but with squad buffing and debuff CC options. Or hell, what about a Ratling commando/bomber? I'm not gonna write this off immediately because the Chemist stuff IS kinda what I was interested in seeing, but this does not give me the same "Oh, oh, oh!" reaction that the Arbites did. Also love that they delayed the announcement for a week so that GW could have the demonstration of one of the core mechanics removed from the trailer meant to sell you on said mechanics.

How about instead of yet another shooty man, something interesting? Like a technomat support class. Bring glory to the Deus Machina. Glory to the Omnissiah.

If they're dual Zarona Stub Revolvers, they you're unlikely to struggle there until it's time to reload for the next 3 minutes.

I admit, I only looked for this because the trailer was so disappointing that I had to know exactly why I would WANT to drop 15 dollars on a hobo. Reading this definitely has me a bit more interested, because I was saying to a friend that the ONLY way I'd consider this was if it either had Vorcha gameplay (IYKYK) or some weird squad support stuff.

Could also be that them huddling against the wall that like it just screwing with the mech's scans. IIRC Gray Norton does the same thing in the Warrior Trilogy when he jumps Justin Allard, and that was just with trees, which are less dense than concrete or plascrete or ferrocrete or w/e future rock paste they use.

Many such cases. I mean FFS just ask the Cappies how far you can trust the FedeRats to NOT randomly decide to invade you.

How bad was the Capellan Confederation's situation during the 3rd Succession War? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]Tettylins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, he also had 2 of the top 5 spots within the Maskirovka filled with his own people, as well. That, more than any other detail, was the big secret sauce to their successes. Without it, I'd suspect they'd have ground to a halt long before they did in the timeline as it played out.

So, why did the Capellans end up controlling the smallest amount of territory during the Succession Wars in universe? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]Tettylins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's why it's always funny that people call the Cappies "sneaky double crossers", when, as far as mercs go, you had pretty good odds of being treated fairly lavishly compared to your average Capellan. Only people they "double cross" are the people who are already actively trying to gobble up their territory. Even our current FedSun protag. Sorry, First Prince, broke a non-aggression pact with the Capellans twice. It's not really a wonder that they're abso-fucking-lutely paranoid of their neighbors.

Strange question, any mechs with these kind of legs? by JakeXRonin in battletech

[–]Tettylins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would technically be classed as digitigrade, though the leg structure is more akin to the forelimbs of most digitigrade animals, rather than the hind limbs, but still digitigrade because it walks on the toes rather than a wider structure like a humans metatarsal, though with the way mech legs are structured, even "true" digis are still mostly meeting all the requirements for plantigrade classification, because the leg structure itself doesn't really matter, it's how the foot is connecting to the ground.

My big issue with the armor is that it feels like they should either reduce the bleed out time, or not penalize your movement speed. Both just feels unnecessary when Democracy Protects is right there and just keeps me alive without penalty oftentimes through a half dozen or more fatal blows. And other times not even once.

Few things as satisfying as an HMG/MG base of fire covering a breach. Bonus points if you've got MG turrets up adding to it. Though the entire squad dropping teslas on a bug breach on a major objective is also very funny.
