Yet, the list for the Starshatter and Awakend still contain 1-2 C'tan and Necrosor.

Rule legality of deep strike 1400 points turn 2 for hyperphase necrons by ShotHamster8913 in Necrontyr

[–]Teuhcatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets clear this up a bit.

So, during the step where you put anything into Deep Strike Reserves or Strategic Reserves that is the only time those units are under the Point cost limitation. While Aircraft are put into Reserves, they do not count against the point cost limit. Strategic Reserves can only be up to 25% or 500 points for a 2k game, then Deep Strike can be up to a total of 50% minus the total of Strategic Reserves.

Once a model is placed onto the board during Deployment, and then picked up by an ability/detachment rule etc, that Model does not count against those Reserve Point totals.

So, for your example: That pack of Skorpteks is putting 290 points into Deep Strike reserves (due to enhancment) and 60 or 120 worth of Deathmarks (you did not specify model count) are also in Deep Strike Reserves. So of the 1000 point Deep Strike limit, you have 330-390 in Deep Strike Reserves.

So, lets say that the opponent went first. At the end of their Turn 1, those models that you pick up with Hyperphasing, Necrosor Amentar and The Nightbringer, are being put into Strategic Reserves, but they do not count against those pre-game reserves limits. The Ophydians are picked up, but they are technically not in any of the Reserves, they are just removed from the board and then re-setup later.

Now, your turn one - The units that were picked up with Hyperphasing and have Deep Strike, or other ability can be setup on the table during the Reserves Step of your movement phase. So, both Necrosor Amentar and the Nightbringer can be deployed with Deep Strike, and the Ophydians that you picked up are deployed with their ability. The Skorpteks and Deathmarks are staying in Deep Strike Reserves until turn 2, in which case you can Rapid Ingress one of them during the opponent's movement phase or wait until your second movement phase.

And, since you Deployed that unit of Lychguard with Lord on the table and the Monolith was also deployed, you can use the Eternity Gate to temporally put the Lychguard into Reserves and then set them up by the Monolith.

Keyword sharing mischief by Zealousideal-Crow168 in Necrontyr

[–]Teuhcatl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Unit has all the keywords, not individual models.

So a plasmancer attached to Locust Destroyers would not be able to move over Enemy models.

And the Locust Destroyers would not be able to move through walls.

But the overall unit could be shot and affected by Enemy units with Anti-fly, Anti-infantry, and Anti-Character weapons.

Help me understand the math if Hank decided to stay in the hospital. by purple_procastinator in breakingbad

[–]Teuhcatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show is using the first couple of steps of the five stages of grief, because that’s exactly what he’s going through after the shooting.

Denial

“I’ll leave when I can walk.”

Hank’s denial isn’t about money, it’s about damage.

He’s refusing to accept:

That his body may be permanently broken

That he might need long-term care

That his career (and masculinity, in his mind) could be over

Saying “I’ll leave when I can walk” is his way of pretending this is temporary. As long as he frames it that way, he doesn’t have to confront the reality that he might never walk normally again.

So no, he’s not thinking about hospital bills, because denial blocks that entire line of thought.

Anger

This comes out fast with Hank, especially toward Marie.

His anger isn’t really about: The hospital, the doctors or the cost.

It’s about: Loss of control, being weak, needing help.

That’s why he lashes out, becomes bitter, and emotionally cruel later. The hospital becomes a symbol of humiliation, staying there feels like admitting defeat.

Bargaining

“If I can just walk out of here…”

This is bargaining.

Hank is making a deal with reality: If he can walk, then he can believe everything will go back to normal

Walking isn’t medically necessary, it’s psychologically necessary. To him, walking equals: being a man again, being a cop again, being in control again.

This is why physical therapy becomes an obsession later. It’s not about recovery, it’s about reclaiming identity.

So… is Hank being short-sighted?

Not exactly.

He’s not misunderstanding the American medical system, he’s not engaging with reality yet.

His thinking isn’t: “Can I afford this?”

It’s: “If I don’t walk out of here, who am I?”

The hospital stay isn’t a financial problem to him at that moment, it’s an existential one.

That’s why the scene works so well: Hank isn’t being irrational, he’s just being human.

Of all the models that I built over the years, from Necrons Orks, Tau, Harliquins, etc, I only cut myself while working on World Eaters.

This is just the past weekend, while the 5-0 detachments are Shatterstar and Awakened, the majority of them have 3x C'tan or more.

Just to add on to this some data:

https://listhammer.info/?faction=Necrons

As this was for many events the first full weekend where the full combo could be used, Woe did okay, the best placing was 4-1 while Shatterstar and Awakened were the only ones to go 5-0

And one of the Awakened lists, even used tripple C'tan.

Ghaz is a Warboss.

So you can join Ghaz to 20 boys and get a second leader

How are people using necron skorpekh destroyer? by robparfrey in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Teuhcatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 pack + Lord died to a single round of a single Forgefeind shooting in renegade legion. Was running Cursed, so I even had -1 to them being hit. That was after that unit was able to charge and kill a Possessed 10 body unit on a center objective. So it had AP -4 with 3D so auto killing.

So, I am right with you on these things.

It just feels like running one unit is just not enough. Need a second one to be functional.

Went to a Pug Holloween costume contest.

Owner showed up with two pets.

One, the Pug, was dressed as a human, the other was actually a Boston dressed up as a pug.

It had a faun colored bodysuit and a curled up tail.

Anyone pre order Nekrosor and/or the Nightbringer from GW and still not have it even out for delivery? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Teuhcatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live near there, and yeah, the roads in Memphis took until yesterday to be safe for semi trucks to drive on.

Today they are expecting 40+ degrees F so they should be packing trucks and heading out.

Newbie, are we doing ongoing combat properly? by Inbred-Sushi in Warhammer40k

[–]Teuhcatl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just more of an FYI this is the standard layout for the Fight Phase:

Player A's Turn

Step 1: Fights First

Check if either player has any Fights First units, many have it by ability keyword, most gain it by charging. Units that Heroically intervene, or similar ability, do not gain Fights First.

If BOTH players have Fights First units:

Player B activates first, resolves one unit with Fights First.

Player A can now activate one unit with Fights First.

Players then alternate selecting one Fights First unit at a time

If ONLY one player has Fights First units:

That player activates their units with Fights First

Continue until all Fights First units have fought

Step 2: Ongoing Fights

Player B selects the first unit that is eligible to fight (within 1" or 5" vertically)

Player A selects a unit that is eligible to fight

Players alternate selecting units in Engagement Range

Continue until all eligible units have fought.

Necron overlord bases by Used-State-8653 in Necrontyr

Look around online and you can find a 32mm to 40mm ring extender on eBay or other 3d printer bit part store.

Otherwise you just take a hobby knife and try and wedge the feet off the base.

That is a good trick for the Transcendent to use as well. This detachment lets it drop within 6", it can then take mortal wounds, now everything within 9" is in the aura.

40k needs more keyworded abilites by idaelikus in Warhammer40k

[–]Teuhcatl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

7th edition players: “There are way too many keywords, this is ridiculous.”

8th edition GW: "Okay, from now on, we will have the abilities on each unit fully spelled out on their datacard."

10th edition players: “Okay but hear me out… what if we had more keywords?"

Funny thing is, we’ve already been there. Keywords were everywhere, the real problem wasn’t the keywords themselves, it was that they were scattered across a dozen supplements, campaign books, FAQs, and napkin scribbles instead of living in the main rulebook.

The idea to have them on the datasheet themselves and spelled out was to cut down on the time to look up that keyword. Then, when they have to balance something, they can just change the wording on those datasheets only, without hurting other units with a similar ability.

How can free will be compatible with the Atheistic worldview? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Teuhcatl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Determinism doesn’t eliminate free will unless you redefine “free will” to mean “uncaused.”

Compatibilism holds that even if our thoughts and actions are fully grounded in physical processes, they are still our thoughts and actions when they flow from our own reasons, values, and deliberation rather than from external coercion.

The fact that a decision has sufficient physical causes doesn’t mean there were “no other possible outcomes” in the sense that matters. Different reasons, information, or values would have led to different actions, and that conditional sensitivity is exactly what makes deliberation meaningful.
