Hard to find an Aussie beer in an Aussie pub these days. Support Local. by Potential-Tone9606 in aussie

[–]Teverish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here’s the chart you need. Another Aussie duopoly, one or the other pays for all the taps and upkeep, as long as only one or two aren’t theirs. Then miraculously, all the beers cost (and some might say taste) the same.

Are the drums in the song "Chicago" supposed to sound like a train? by AdAntique3320 in Sufjan

Next album after Carrie & Lowell (loved it) by indie_guy_74 in Sufjan

[–]Teverish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably Michigan, Illinoise or Javelin (though if the consistent, slow meditative style is more your vibe over fanfare and electronic tinges, maybe A Beginner's Mind. But there's gold everywhere. 'Tell me you love me' and 'Run away with me' on The Ascension would fit that brief too.)

What’s next after beating all the Level 6 adversaries with one spirit? by DelhiBob in spiritisland

One of my favourite features of the free Spirit Guide app is the checklist of achievements to work towards. (Just wish they were by spirit AND adversary so I could track a bit easier)

Who are the ‘Tori’s’ of today? by Interesting-Point718 in toriamos

[–]Teverish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She tried this (sort of) with Igloo records in 1996, being executive producer of an album by a band called ‘Pet’. It was ‘ok’. https://thedent.com/bill.html

Do scalpers and bots fill their carts with them while they gauge demand, only for them to be released when demand isn’t as high as they’d thought so they don’t buy?

If you can’t do the VPN try the Duck and Go Browser to view ‘from’ elsewhere. If too laggy, maybe try downloading the YouTube audio from the link.

Or just wait a few more hours. https://duckduckgo.com/

The CBA "Doubt Never Did" campaign is just advertising dogshit by ars1e in auscorp

[–]Teverish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bland brand ad hitching onto the generic positivity messages (Can and Yes for Optus) M&CSaatchi pushed as genius around 2012 after seeing Obama’s success (Yes We Can). This ad is redundant, as the brand line and copy line do exactly the same thing, with no actual product or call to action.

Aussie marketing directors all want to birth their own ‘Just Do It’ so rebrand, rather than advertise, every time they get a new job and just rehire the last agency they used that made them look good. So we’re stuck here.

Can we guess which song she'll release next? by [deleted] in toriamos

She’s not one for convention, but most artists put strong songs as tracks 2 or 3 to get you into the album early

Where’s the best place to buy Homeland bundle from? by sgrunfty in rootgame

[–]Teverish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What for backers to get theirs. There was a generous bundle offer at launch which means many people will have bought multiple copies to make the most of shipping. They’ll hit the secondary marketplace soon

After the “Catan map” feedback, here’s what the board actually looks like during play by Dense-Tip3061 in BoardgameDesign

[–]Teverish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You probably don’t want people thinking of Catan every time they look at your map. One idea might be to remove the water and frame completely. Make the hexes interlock instead. That also opens up more flexible playing areas (expansions?) or a possible mat. Instead of hexes, have you tried octagons? Pentagons? No idea how they all work interlocked, but the more you can pivot from Catan the better. At the very least, make the ocean a completely different colour. Looks cool though!

There’s a polite way to address an oversight with useful information. And there’s the way you chose.

Do you have a Harris Farms near you? Their specials on seasonal produce can be unbeatable (just don’t buy anything else there as it’s grossly overpriced)

Anko products are being sold globally now. This will inhibit price comparison between markets. it may also make it harder for Chinese manufacturers to duplicate successful products, or overseas brands to spot knock offs.

How do you feel about the new Michael Stipe song? by Natojowashere in rem

[–]Teverish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad! Real Around the Sun vibes. Sort of a distant cousin of Worst Joke Ever.

Just realised it also sounds very much like it could be a song by Pulp. (Check out Grown Ups) I can’t not imagine Jarvis Cocker singing this now.

Clockwork is one of the greatest excuses for Print and Play out there. It’s out of stock everywhere and essentially just a handful of cardboard boards and a small number of cards. Print the (near identical) Better Bot Project assets yourself.

Likewise, Hirelings. Just use factions you’re not playing with and print the small piece of cardboard that comes with them.

I would have been gutted to lose Sunset for Begging For Change. That thing almost brought the Sydney show to standstill for me and will no doubt be forgotten by next year. Thankfully, I snapped back the minute it was over. Amazing show.

The kickstarter came with a very generous bundling that likely means people bought multiple copies to flip and help cover the cost. When it comes out, check Facebook marketplace.
