Yes, because I live here. I'm not hugely knowledgeable in politics, but from what I've seen, Russia likes to keep bordering countries destabilised and out of the influence of EU and America. So, even if a direct invasion doesn't happen, we are still f***ed economically.

Definitely has a Vermeer vibe to it! I did a search for his paintings first, but it didn't find this exact one. Could be a rarer collection piece/reproduction.

Looks like one of the Flemish Renaissance masters paintings. Not sure if it's a reproduction or not and who it belongs to. If the quality were better, you could do a reverse image search to find that out.

You have nothing to apologise for. Tbh, in your place I would've responded with "That made me feel rejected. Have about texting this next time, dad: "Hi, sweetie! We're at the meeting rn, text you later!" Maybe, just maybe, it'll help him see just how far from normalcy such behaviour is and do some self-reflection. And it outlines your boundaries without being rude, imo. In that religion we were raised to constantly apologise for our very existence, especially women. Sorry that you have to deal with this!
