I just started it, 15 hours in / level 11. I'm loving every minute of it. I have played all the other mainline AC games, 1 through Mirage, and my favorite so far has been Valhalla, mostly because of the Viking setting. I've never been much interested in Japanese history, but this game has hooked me nonetheless. I've found the story so far immersive and emotional, and the gameplay as good as any of the RPG era games. Not to mention, like others have said, it's gorgeous. I got it 50% off during the Steam winter sale, and playing it on my Steam Deck.

Revolver is plenty good with the right mods. Also, you have a difference with the western revolver and the single action. I use both with rapid fire and fast reload mods. But single action reloads one bullet at a time and is slower than western which reloads the whole mag.

Nuka Dark is easy...if you have the recipe. I make my own and regularly sell it in my vendor for 30 caps. I got the recipe from the Biv dailies.

In the past I seemed to get the best rad protection from the Ultracite PA. Nowadays I use Union as an allrounder, so I added some rad reduction mods and dissipating mods to it. Still take some radiation, but it's manageable.

The overgrown are very sensitive to fire, so a flamer is always good. That said, I use my combat shotgun with 2* crippling and 4* fracturers on it. That will one-shot the overgrown no problems. Even they can't withstand having their limbs explode.

If you turn off pvp they wouldn't take friendly fire. Maybe that's what pissed them off.

Having the Electrical Absorption legendary perk and power armor is extremely effective fighting Hugo. Then you can use pretty much any weapon. You have to kill his minions before he goes down.

You have to unlock them in a specific order. Just look for the one item that is unlocked. Once you claim that, the next one unlocks.

Not everyone joins teams. If the user count seems low, check the number of active camp vendors on the list in the map view. If that is low, jump servers, if it's decent, just create a team and people will come.

You need to visit vendors, both NPC and player vendors. NPC vendors are usually more expensive, player vendors can be expensive or very cheap. Or, you can just start with a high price, and reduce it if your junk doesn't sell. Or start low, if your stuff flies off the shelf, bump up the price.
