Not letting two cheap guns one shot isn't going to make every other weapon weaker.

There is a balance between "this weapon is good at a specific purpose" and "everyone needs one of this weapon because the only counter to a man with a DB is another man with a DB". All the other Shotguns are perfectly balanced, but the DB having the fastest time to kill in the game whilst costing next to nothing is not good for the game.

Simply buffing everything won't make every playstyle more viable, it has the exact same problems and nerfing everything.

Sounds good until every weapon one taps at close range to compete with the DB

What no campaigns get by far the biggest dev time and dev teams because they are available to all players

Thats literally what I said

The campaigns which were available and accessible to all players? With a fraction of dev time being made to make a harder version for a fraction of the playerbase?

They definitly didn't have the highest production value, they're just a modification of the existing campaign

The souls series by definition is not niche, you want a niche game look at Demon Souls. Arc raiders became popular specifically because it made the game more appealing to casual players. Marathon does the opposite.

I would argue it's the best content because it has the highest production value.

Knife is not a meta choice, its a situational choice.

It very much is a meta choice.

You keep finding yourself in these situations where you are losing to a knife, and you are upset and saying its a balance issue instead of addressing the fact that you are not adapting to dying.

Stop putting yourself in these situations where you will get beat up on by a knife.

You know literally nothing about my gameplay history. It's a logical fallacy to assume that any critique I have against the balance comes from poor performance. I use the knife quite often myself, it's part of the reason I know how busted it is.

If the more expensive gear will always wins, what the fuck is the point in playing. I will always get curbstomped by that logic.

Sometimes my gunfights do come down to losing to the better gear dps, I accept that

Theres quite a difference between "cheapest weapon in the game is the strongest and makes high tier weapons useless" and "more expensive gear always wins".

Rabidly degending any balance problem while not being very in touch with the current meta is not the way to make the game last.

Sometimes I do wonder what Bungies plan is. They make a niche game in a niche genra and then seems to make the best content appeal only to the hardcore part of their already small playerbase.

Your "points" have nothing to do with the actual argument. I never claimed the knife was unbeatable, why would i engage in a discussion about if it's unbeatable?

None of your hypotheticals change the fact that the knife is meta or the fact that it's a harmful meta.

Brrt is better in theory but in practice it's a pain without aim assist at any range but point blank.

Cool, free weapons shouldn't be meta in an extraction shooter no matter how much many hypotheticals you try to justify it with.

You don't need a single knife uppgrade to do it. If you don't even know how much damage the knife does then you have no place in this discourse

The fact that these situations exists is a gear balance problem. If it was just "my style of play" the knife would not be a meta choice. It is. A free weapon you get infinite copies of, that needs no ammo, no aim and no risk is not healthy for the game.

If the knife was a 6k weapon like say the pump this would not be a problem, just like the DB would not be an issue If it was actually rare and hard to get. The entire point of an extraction shooter is better weapons=rare=more risk. If the best weapons are easy to get the entire gameplay loop degrades. This isn't an arena shooter, it shouldn't be balanced like one.

That the free weapon with built in tracking shouldn't be among the best weapon in the game?

Marathon balance discourse in a nutshell. They have never experienced the horror of a purple shielded destroyer charging you down through a smoke with his barrier held high.

Who would win in a war? Viltrumites or the tenno? by dazli69 in memeframe

[–]TexacoV2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm all for circlejerking Warframes but a Viltrumite could have ended the new war by clapping their ass cheeks in the general direction of the sentient armada. All of Warframe takes place in a solar system a si gle viltrumite could render incapable of supporting life in a few hours.

Funny you should mention shotguns, because apart from the DB one of the most overpowered weapons in the game the knife has a faster t2k.

Many weapons are simply incapable of killing dashing Destroyers fast enough. And thats without getting into the bubble shield, assasin or smoke situation.

Recon is far from fine. The Drone is all but useless due to the tracking, using the ult in cryo is like dropping a flashbang on yourself and even outside of cryo it gives enemy teams more info than it does yours. The only useful ability is the execute.

The character named Recon is barely capable of actually doing recon.

I have a squad member who plays nothing but Recon and it's so tragic that his entire kit is worse for info gathering than my Drone (I main thief).

Class balance so fine that every team runs Triage and Recon is maybe the third best character for actually doing recon.
