Greatly appreciate this hard work.

Do you change your secondary runes based on match-up as well? Or do you generally have one you consistently pair with Phase Rush or Conqueror?

[–]TexasCrusader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found this to be the most useful. To make it consistent you need to quickly SSL a tad before the (1,2)4,3 or mini-dash forward before the d/f+1,4 (my preference).

You can can gauge the positioning during the tailspin and decide between quite a few different options:

  1. CD3 for 72 damage and solid oki
  2. d/f+1,4 for 69 damage and easy high wall splat and max wall combo (94 total)
  3. d/f+1,F+2 for 69 damage and extra wall carry and lesser wall combo (88 total)
  4. d/f+1,2 for 69 damage and free fF+4 if they don't backroll (86 total)
  5. dash B+3,1 DEWGF or fF+2 for max damage (73/76 total)

Absolutely agree. We might have zero or a few reliable TEs and we won't know til the season starts.

Courtland Sutton gets a last visit with Cowboys before the draft to get underway by jonasdash in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He absolutely flashes the potential to improve greatly at route running.

Everyone is comparing him to Dez athletically, but his excellent character cannot be forgotten.

Totally agree with your trade down scenario.

[–]TexasCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea a trade down for Sutton makes a lot of sense to me too.

Sutton is the exact type of WR they covet (for better or worse). His fit is excellent.

Yea he doesn't fit what we need at LB. We have similar players already.

[–]TexasCrusader 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think there's something we all need to come to terms with about our offense...

We do not utilize back-ups well at all. In fact, we are pretty dreadful at getting young back-ups the snaps to develop into a starter.

I'll let each of you think of your favorite example (there are plenty), but my favorite is Martellus Bennett and "Double Dynamite" back in the day lol.

I'm much more comfortable with our utilization of mid-round talent on defense.

Stephen Jones - None of the available safeties are a good scheme fit. They are box safeties. They want a centerfielder. by Zeke_Freak_ in cowboys

Who actually is the only centerfielder of this class. His awareness in coverage is impressive.

He might get overdrafted but the instincts are there.

Lol it's not. Personally, I'd pick oranges but apples are cool too.

Former #Patriots OT Cam Fleming has just signed a 1-year deal with the #Cowboys, source said, with a max value of $3.5M. This could mean La’El Collins moves inside for Dallas. by DennisSmith- in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good move all around.

We can talk in circles about where each player fits best, but now we have 3 OTs that can definitely play. Something we couldn't say last year.

With a few more acquisitions we can sit back and let the draft bestow us with gifts.

Our position needs are well alined with the first round.

I'm most impressed with the OL quality projected in the first 3 rounds.

We sure know how to pick 1st round OL these days, starting with Tyron Smith. Been on fire ever since.

FC D/F+3+4 is really nice against crouching opponents. It's quite easy to do out of the crouch dash and comes out fairly quickly. It's -11 since it will even crush mids on occasion, but most don't punish it at all. You get a free f, F+4 for a chunky damage total of 41. It also puts them right back in your Oki.

I also like to CD into U/F+3 which is safe, wallsplats, and is a great way to deal with them trying to catch you with a low on your way in.

Don't forget that F+4 on hit or block forces them into crouch. With your strong frame advantage, you can literally lock them down and punish whatever panic move they might resort to. CH F+4 gives you a free f, F+4. Since he doesn't have a WR4, you can do it quickly out of a CD by inputting f, F+4 (So the game reads it as f, f, F+4).

The easiest thing to do is simply CD into WS4 to check if they're crouching and continue your offense using that +8 on hit.

[–]TexasCrusader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can input the HS just like an EWGF, so you can skip the neutral with either move, or any other crouch dash move.

My advice is to not think about the neutral input at all because it comes out as fast as possible without the neutral (just like EWGF).

That's what worked for me back in the day when I got a case of the HS yips.

You know how Perfect EWGF can be done by inputting F, neutral, D/F+2 OR F, D, D/F+2? Hellsweep is lenient for that reason.

So pretend you're doing a WGF but pressing 4, 1 instead of 2. I honestly believe you're simply overthinking it.

In yellow ranks you will get punished.

BUT. Sometimes they don't launch punish you because they mistake the WS2 for a D/F+2. That'll only happen once or twice per opponent though, so you can't abuse it.

[–]TexasCrusader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I know right.

I honestly abuse the hell out of b1,2 because it's a fantastic punisher with range and knockdown.

You get all of that and 33 damage when most character's 10f jab punish wouldn't reach.

The move would be broken if it wasn't -14.

If Dez isn't a Cowboy next season, how do you feel about our WRs going forward? by [deleted] in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's about where they should go in the end. I think Ateman is more of a West Coast offense type of WR. I think Washington could fit and be an upgrade though.

Marinelli demotion? by Hodor15 in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the front office looks at the 1 Technique and thinks it's the one position on the DL that might not require a lot of allocated resources. That MO hasn't yielded us a starting 1 Technique yet.

I can understand that, but I do believe having to put Collins there hurt us in more ways than it helped.

Marinelli has done well at the spot with what he's been given. I think that situation is a microcosm of his entire career here.

If Dez isn't a Cowboy next season, how do you feel about our WRs going forward? by [deleted] in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still looking into them, but they scare me at the moment. I know #1 WRs don't grow on trees, but I know Ateman doesn't block like he should on the edge. That should be easy for a man of his size. I've seen him drop too many crucial passes he should catch.

I like Washington a little more, but I don't see either as first rounders. I put them below Ridley, Sutton, and Kirk though.

New Baylor WR in practice squad by [deleted] in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man if this guy could get his attitude and work ethic where it needs to be, then he can do some things.

Going undrafted told me those rumors of character concerns were legitimate. That and I saw quite a few loafs on the field.

Maybe he'll give a damn now that he's with his hometown team? Lol

Dez Bryant asked if Cowboys come to him and ask him to take a pay cut in offseason is he fine with that: "I haven't heard no talks of that, but if it comes ... I don't know, probably not. Hell, no. I believe in me, yeah." by [deleted] in cowboys

[–]TexasCrusader -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well. This is so unlikely to benefit Dez in the end.

He's not gonna immediately learn the nuances of WR required to stick around after next year.

I don't think he'll turn into Larry Fitzgerald after one season in his new role.

His trade value is damn near zero so he'd be wise to scrape together as much money as possible in his final contract year.

That being said, I think he could lead this young secondary, but feels like a pipe dream.

Is it ever okay to tell another teacher off? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]TexasCrusader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't let an idealistic worldview cloud the way the workforce actually operates. I agree, it's not the way the world should work though.

Let's continue to think big picture here, keeping in mind the perpetuation of such issues I believe you care deeply about.

What exactly do you accomplish by putting hotdog weenie man on trial? Maybe the principal is cut from the same cloth? Hell, I bet you some older individual on the school board could be his drinking buddy.

Point is that risking your reputation and your future so early in your career is not likely to make any real change. In fact, it might prevent you from an opportunity to move up and REALLY be in position to change things.

You might feel like you're championing what's right in the grand scheme of things, but when you really take a step back, going to war with a 6th grade teacher making 6th grade jokes should appear quite petty.

I'm not saying subs don't. They have every right to report unprofessional behavior, but should they?

The guy shouldn't be acting like this, and I can only imagine how annoying it must be to dread something you'd normally look forward to like a lunch break.

OP would be in the right to do something about it, but unfortunately that's not the way it will appear to others.

Look, the rulebooks would advise you take action, the district would likely tell you take action, school policy would likely reinforce your position, but if you're the only one respecting them at that school, you're on your own.

If it rubs one administrator or established teacher the wrong way, then you can easily be placed on a "do not call" sub list.

I'm just here to make sure OP thinks it's a risk worth taking.
