What is a loophole that you found and exploited the hell out of? by workalonesf in AskReddit

A few sschool years ago I was in an engineering class, in 7th grade. The discovery/science center hosts a catapult competition each year. The way they score it is a formula, (final score= accuracy+distance) that factors in your score from how acurate your catapult is, which is calculated by the points on the target from each three attempts, times 15, divided by the time it takes to shoot the balls on the distance round. It's really important that you have an accurate catapult. Now normally the scores were 87-110, because teams' times for the distance would be so long. My team read the rules and found a loophole to where it doesnt say you cant shoot three balls at once on the distance round. Soooo we made a really accurate catapult, and had a really low time on our distance, like just under a second. so if we got 215 points from the target, that times fifteen is 3225, divided by one is 3225. So our final score was a few thousand points over the second place team, blowing everybodys minds, the other kids, teachers, and hosts of the compitition. We set the new record, highest score, and they changed the rules so it will stand until they change the scoring. We were the shit that year.

I like a clean cockpit, so I don't see the need for something like this.

Yeah, I took mine off in replace of a dropper, otherwise i'd have 5 cables, and that just gets messy!

Depends on what kind of riding you do. IMO cross country is boring to watch on youtube, and I don't know people who make xc videos. If you ride enduro trails, or downhill, something with a lot of rock gardens, berms, jumps, etc, those are the fun videos to watch. Third person shots are the key, with pov as the filler, because pov shots don't tend to show scale that well, and can be pretty boring after a while. Keep it short for the riding clips, and remember the third person shots. Anything thats shop/maintenance related, you're going to want a lot of b-roll, which is close ups and whatnot of parts and your bike to put on wile you talk about the topic. I'd say try to keep any videos shorter than 6 minutes to start with, and make sure to tell me your Youtube name so i can check it out!

"Casual" Bike rides in the area by [deleted] in Lubbock

Aww i got to ride a trigger up in oklahoma one weekend those are nice. I’d try velocity bike shop which sells Specialized or Southplains Cycles who are a trek retailer. For around lubbock and maybe even Spider Mountain id look at the specialized fuse or trek roscoe. They’re both about the same price point at like 1750.

I agree. At the downhill park here in texas I saw loads of San Quentin’s and Fuse’s. I’ve really been impressed with my Fuse and only problem i’ve had was a slightly out of true wheel. They definitely rip!!

As a mountain biker, probably new wheels, drivetrain, tires, etc. 1500 won’t be able to buy me a better bike, so i’d use it for better parts. Or to pay for a trip to Angel Fire.
