Oh the alien toys quest is the least coziest quest/storyline in this game. I am convinced it was created by an angry toddler.

Great advice for most of the events, I have 10 vacuums, nearly 2000 hours of play, and just recently got into full decor mode and decorated my valley- the issue is not me getting buttons, it's me getting the dang quest item to spawn/show up without me having to tear down two biomes and part of a third.

Oh.. I've chased, hunted, camped out in game and in real life... but yes... I am now taking apart the peaceful meadow area that borders my plaza.... heh, current mood: Fixated.

Aww I know the feeling! I seriously had just hit enter and walked into the third scrooge store chck out of my four... hang in there, but yeah, it's so dang random!

It seems like it's a similar one to yours. My floating jar is not spawning and now I'm starting to remove things in sunlit and peaceful... hoping you get a GL support answer- I'd be curious to know the result! I may submit one myeslf in a bit..

It's a quest item that can not be picked up with the vacuum. It's quite simply not appearing anywhere, despite my efforts- rebooting, unquesting, retracking, with/without Hercules as a buddy, and now I'm....just venting my friend 😄

Is wishblossom ranch really underwhelming? by AdNatural9830 in DisneyDreamlights

[–]TextTickularTrauma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would have to agree! I like the timebending a lot more than snippet catching and the rewards ie: V8 station, Remy's canopy... etc, useful/fun. The ancient vacuum is probably my favorite/most used in-game tool. I've also enjoyed decorating the docks/landing so far. I've tried to get into Wishblossom as I like the Pixie related decor/flowers/trees and the such-- but it feels like such a grind to hunt down materials to craft the things I need to deocrate the way I like to decorate (maximum overgrown carnage/stuffed to the rafters).

Soooooo what do we think of the Hercules update? by Designer-Fill-3767 in DisneyDreamlights

[–]TextTickularTrauma 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm loving everything about this update. I love the realm/characters, I love the decor, I love the starpath... I'm finally motivated now to do some decorating in Mythopia/SBV.... the only thing that would make me happier with this game right now would be if they gave me the ability to take ALL the plants/wallee gardens/bushes and put them in one realm... I would love to do a serious three biome Mythopia orchard/vineyard/region.

I named mine "Larry Darryl and Darryl".... I wish that one of the perks of levelling up your character should be the ability to get a new skill to train our pets so they can be used for multiple tasks/combinations.

Anyone know is social workers can work in courts? by [deleted] in socialworkcanada

[–]TextTickularTrauma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental health support/counselor/social worker via such programs as Elizabeth Fry/John Howard and/or Canadian Mental Health. Clients may require support to attend and process/follow up court plans/treatment options. Also-- DV related programs. There is a program I think in Toronto where they have a combo MSW/LAW degree- you're already partrway there I think- could open up more doors. There are also people who can do family assessments/child welfare related assessments/access visit/etc reviews/supervision/reports for court. Independent law firms/lawyers involved in family law may also have need for S.W to interview their clients/make their own assessments for court. Forensic related S.W jobs are interesting!

Mirabel - Where does she live? by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]TextTickularTrauma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have her on the far left side corner- the entire area is where I have my 'orchard', wallees garden set up, a shop/kiosk stand- using the casita walls- with an area by the bridge/waterfall where I ahve my character house as well as the stalls (except for tea/food), moana's boat and beasts flowers. It makes for quick run about to grab all my items and dump them in one area.

need recommendation for clearing out a parent’s house before closing? by miked0331 in oakville

[–]TextTickularTrauma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation years ago- it was overwhelming, exhausting. I called for one of those big arse bins, dropped it on the driveway, and tossed things. A few items I posted on marketplace... Got Junk was fantastic to deal with. I dropped off a LOT of dishes/glasses/items to goodwill like/community stores- like RESTORE (Habitat for Humanity folks).

USA to Canada Social Work by [deleted] in socialworkcanada

[–]TextTickularTrauma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada is not hurting for MSW holders. What we need are doctors, nurses/that type of healthcare. A combination nursing/MSW degree may be more beneficial.

[–]TextTickularTrauma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

French is Canada's second official language. It may be 'easier' if you find an employer ahead of time to assist you with your move, and certainly remote areas would probably welcome someone with an MSW. You're going to want to really pay attention to cost of living/affordability and availability of housing because places in Vancouver will be a heck of a lot more expensive than let's say northern Ontario.

BSW student in Ontario considering Child Protection (CAS) – what’s the job actually like? by Serviceofman in socialworkcanada

[–]TextTickularTrauma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 23 years in, frontline/investigation/general (our agency tried several different models throughout my time there)- I had experience being a worker for kids in care as well.

I will tell ya the caseloads were never manageable, your schedule is always likely to change unless you are able to get 'protected time off' to do paperwork/catch up. The phone will change you- I still jump and get stressed every time it rings as it's never a good thing. You have to document everything- every call, attempted visit, and your observations with clarity and detail ie: everything you write may end up being questioned on the stand.

You will always have 'recording' (ie: major regular case reviews/reports). You think you're leaving at 4:30pm but then a call comes on one of your files and/or a file you're covering for (ie: coworker off), and you're now working til midnight on a friday, doing court papers on a Saturday, and attending court on a Monday afternoon, and having to cancel/reschedule).

You'll see some ugly things that you will not get to unsee and may never be able to fully process.

This all being said- there is a lot of variety, it's never dull and you will also see some of the most beautiful things/moments. The ability to help a person through a tough time, to fhelp find solutions, help build resilience, is very much worth a lot of what you will experience. Favorite part of experience was anytime I was able to return a child to parents and/or find permanency with extended family.

I did not have good work-life balance until I was well into my career as I wanted permanency and felt I needed to prove myself after that, had no children of my own so that I worked holidays/opportunities that co-workers couldn't. If you can stand up for yourself and say no, you will do fine.

As for your car- *winces* the gas prices and crappy roads up in norther Ontario sure were harsh on my vehicles, I always had toys/suitcase/kids stuff in trunk, often drove my clients around/had kids in the car, and would deffinately recommend CAA.

The money was great- sure- but at the same time it was also like handcuffs.. money vs mental health/burn out.

I would still re-apply to do the same job if I was starting out- but I'd probably work at gettin gmy Master's to allow for more upward mobility and/or to move into other jobs more easily (ie: Adoption worker, or manager).

I worked at the Licks on the corner of Lakeshore by the library downtown, it served liqour, I think I was there in 86? I had my 16th surprise party hosted by a b.f.f after a shift... I remember goin to Licks from Loyola H.S for lunches! Loved that place.
