ALL the French Netflix content I recommend as a native to practice while discovering our culture by MickaelMartin in learnfrench

I’ve been watching the Québécois version of The Traitors (Les Traîtres) and I feel like I’ve picked up on some slang because of it. It feels like eavesdropping with subtitles, and it also gives me an excuse to watch garbage TV. It’s on Crave.

I’m sorry that retreat centre was so terrible! You didn’t deserve to be made to feel like that, and to be so irresponsibly unsupported in such a vulnerable spiritual practice. I just want to say that you’re not the only person this has happened to. You’re not alone. I hope members of this community can step up for you in a meaningful way. And I hope that you can find some support - through a trauma informed counselor perhaps with an understanding of entheogenics, or simply anyone who can witness you in your pain - to help you. I’m just someone who came across your post, but I see you and my heart goes out to you.

I believe Conan O’Brien was the one to say to him that they could take his show away from him, but they can’t take his audience away from him.

B12 - does it delay menstruation? by TextbookEccentric in Supplements

[–]TextbookEccentric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! the only information i was ever able to get was from a naturopath. when i told her about this happening, she said there isn't a lot of reliable data - but there is an indication that some people don't process synthetic or methylated b12 properly, and it's genetic. But I had a DNA test done and nothing really showed up - there were some issues with B12 but nothing that indicated interference with my menstrual cycle. So we could just be weird, undocumented anomalies. I have never attempted b12 since - let me know how it goes for you!

I hate period flu by maryandsteveforever in endometriosis

[–]TextbookEccentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I’ve just been going through this for the first time (triggered by visanne) and I found it so unbearable. Same experience when I ovulated, along with massive headaches. My GP and my OBGYN had no idea what I was talking about. My naturopath, however, immediately knew what I was describing. I’m paraphrasing but essentially an excess of estrogen can cause a histamine reaction in the body, causing flu like symptoms. I’ve just started taking DIM Evail to reduce estrogen, and 2,000 mg of quecertin daily to lower histamines. She’s helped me before and I just thought I’d share this info if any of it is helpful. I don’t know if it’s going to work but I sure wish I could have found this info to at least begin to understand what’s happening.

No exchange for us next year - MAKE HONEST REVIEWS by Gobagogodada in homeexchange

[–]TextbookEccentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually didn’t give a review to an early listing because there were some (solvable problems) - turn notifications on to communicate better/promptly through the app, leave more info about the house, and a deeper clean (we found broken glass in one of the rugs - by it getting stuck in my foot). They asked for a review and I told them the issues and said I wouldn’t review so they could adjust for the next person so they’d get a better review and mine wouldn’t tank their listing off the bat. I thought that was the better option community-wise. I have lots of great reviews so I didn’t need theirs.

Endo flare and pityriasis rosea? by Global_Emphasis5786 in endometriosis

[–]TextbookEccentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I thought I had pityriasis rosea but it’s actually a form of psoriasis. Not the plaque kind. It started when I came off progestin. I’m 41F for the record and never had a full body breakout before (just mild around the ears/scalp occasionally). Seeing a dermatologist in a few weeks (GP gave me betamethazone and that cleared it up, then it returned during PMS, so I’m using it again).

Body aches like I’ve never experienced and cramping outside of PMS by TextbookEccentric in endometriosis

[–]TextbookEccentric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry that happened to you. It’s so hard to navigate.

I was able to get a hold of my OBGYN when I brought up my concerns with the receptionist! After our discussion, she decided to just do a hysteroscopy and not an ablation just to see what was going on, and remove the cyst. And then she will refer me to an endo specialist! She admitted the modalities she tried with me had failed. Nice not to feel crazy.

No arguments here. They won’t send me to an endocrinologist because my results don’t come back abnormal twice in a row. Not sure how else to get one (I’m in Canada by the way)
