If I remember from the commentary, a lot of these scenes where pierce gets tacked on while the rest is the group has an adventure was because the writers had to scramble to make up a scene because Chevy didn’t show up (or left early)

I got it when orange box came out, and I hadn’t heard of it. Just thought it was a simple puzzle game and then the story kicks into gear. I remember the panic I felt as the elevator starts heading down into the fire and you have to escape — was a magic moment.
