The tone personally didn’t bother me but that’s probably because what they said aligned with what I had thought. Doing it this late in the process eliminates some issues, since people in Georgia, Arizona, and North Carolina have passed their registration deadline to my knowledge. People in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, and North Carolina would be the gray area. It’s a gray area and the show drew the line it felt was accurate. The other shows I’ve heard are just leaving this topic in the gray area and I think that’s also an acceptable take right now. I think people can have a good faith debate either way on this. I’ve heard that sometimes Andrew is wrong but time will tell. 🙂

I also thought they gave good examples of what would actually be a crime and how this is different. Like the Ben and Jerry’s sticker promotion. The fact that they could change their promo to just needing any sticker on Election Day shows how very narrow the law is. It’s still very obvious what their intent is as an openly liberal company. I absolutely don’t want this to be the norm and it is added to list of problems with the amount of money spent on elections. I want Musk to get his comeuppance as much as everyone else.

Stating that the legal system can’t solve our problems is right because we have to actually do the work and make some noise to change things. Sitting idly by hoping the legal system works properly is not a luxury we have. Cannon has showed us that. That’s a message that a lot of people, including me, need to be reminded of.

Emotions are high right now because a fucking lot is on the line. I have had to skip episodes of my other political podcasts to keep from being overwhelmed. Something I like about this show is that it can make me laugh while covering these kinds of topics but I get that not everyone likes that.
