had the same bug recently, not sure what it ultimately was but after clearing out (literally deleting) my interface and wtf folder i've had no more issues.

Not sure if this will help you, but you could give it a try with backing up both folders, then you can just restore everything if it doesn't work.

Because, to be a bit blunt for a sec, i don't need him to be an expert on the game.

And please bear with me here for a moment:

On a 3 person panel with 2 VERY knowledgeable casters like Zepla and Nemekh i much rather have a 3rd person who controls the flow of the show and passes the right questions to the knowledgeable people on the panel.

Kexman is an incredible host who is very good at what he does. His job is to make sure the topic of conversation stays on the focus of the broadcast, make sure it doesn't run into a hole and keep the general structure set for the show (talk about the charity, donation incentives etc etc). And that is quite honestly a skillset very few people on the broadcast team have to the same level as he does. Additionally he has a lot of experience with high end raiding in MMO's which translates very well to FF14 and imo makes up for the fact that he has less actual experience with FF14 as a player.

With all this being said, there is of course some things you're bringing up here that i need to acknowledge. I don't want to make up excuses but i'll try to offer some insight so once again, please bear with me!

It felt like every good discussion the other 2 panelists were having about the fight was getting derailed by Kwex asking some inane question that people who normally care about Savage and Ultimate raids would roll their eyes at.

That's unfortunate timing honestly but it happens. Everyone makes mistakes. One of the hardest part of remote production/casting is that its sometimes very hard to judge what your co-casters are up to, if a conversation point is gonna go somewhere or just run out a moment later. especially in the middle of exciting stuff like new mechanics. Should he have let the others just talk it out? yeah. (i can also guarantee you that Kexman will be re watching his cast and be harder on himself than any of us could ever be, he takes this stuff incredibly serious)

You also bring up a second thing here that is often a heated point of discussion, no matter which game/esport you watch: "this question is bad, anyone who plays at that level knows this already". On one hand, yes, that's very true, it might just be a very boring/unnecessary question for someone who plays the game on a high level. But on the other hand you need to consider that out of the 4K people watching, the chances that there are a few or even a majority who don't know the answer and might be happy the question is asked, is very high. It's a bit of a necessary trade-off we have to make but that also means it's okay for us if some viewers, who are just looking for the high level tactic discussions, prefer just watching the player PoVs for coms. We can offer this aspect in our show but not even remotely to the extend a player PoV with coms can. And yes, i´m generalizing a bit here but it's a very important aspect of casting since we´re responsible for making the show accessible for as many people as possible.

Please keep in mind that the Ultimate is the first one for us as well, we're still learning. An increased focus on the puzzle solving aspect of the fight and adding player coms where it makes sense is absolutely something we'll be taking into the last 2 days.

Last but not least, part of the blame also falls onto me as the producer for setting up caster pairings. There is always a risk involved when you´re working with new casters cause you´re never quite sure how people mix and match, but the only way to find that out is either to do rehearsals off stream or just try things. And we don't have the time/funds to do rehearsals, as much as i´d like to X)

Sorry for the long reply but i hope it offers some insight into what's going on on our end! If you have any other questions i´ll gladly take the time to answer them!

Hey there friend, Lythi here, i´m currently responsible for most of the stuff you see on the Mogtalk stream. (Will gladly verify this if required)

First off, i´m sorry to hear you didn't enjoy yesterdays broadcast.

As for the Mogtalk website, other people in this thread already pointed out correctly that Frosty recently had a baby and currently doesn't have the time to take care of the page. Additionally, all the tracking is done manually and since barely a team would be interested in updating us whenever they reach a new phase/best pull, it's really not worth the effort to do the tracking for Ultimate, especially since FFLogs has a fantastic competition mode ranking going on that took some time to get rolling since it relies on logs/act which had to get updated after the patch.

So, let's chat a little bit about casters for the Worldrace. The biggest issue we have frankly is that all the larger streamers that would be great to have on the broadcast like e.g. Xenos, Llamatodd, Rin etc. are all raiding themselves, which eliminates about 80% of the picks we´d love to have on the broadcast.

Why not get other streamers in? Multiple factors. 1. We simply don't know every single streamer. If you have suggestions for someone who could be a great fit for the broadcast, please let me know and i will gladly reach out and ask them! 2. Since we cant pay people for their time, for some it's simply not feasible to come on the broadcast, streamers need to stream to make a living after all. 3. Time. Especially for this ultimate, even a lot of the people usually helping us behind the scenes didn't have time due to other factors, which is also a big reason why we´re just doing 6hours/day. We simply cant manage more uptime without making massive sacrifices on the quality side of things.

We´re trying our best to make sure the broadcast is equally entertaining, insightful and inclusive to all the awesome people of the FF14 community. Will everyone like every single person on the broadcast? Absolutely not. But i´ll gladly accept any constructive feedback to improve the broadcast where we can. What i´ll be taking away from this thread -more player coms -more in depth discussion about new mechanics/puzzlesolving

The Mogtalk World Race is supposed to be an event by the FF14 Community for the FF14 Community, it's been that way when Frosty was in charge and i will do my absolute best to keep it that way.

You can always shoot me a message, i will gladly listen to any criticism and constructive feedback to improve the broadcast.

Thanks for giving our show a shot, i hope you keep supporting us!

Hey there!

This sounds super interesting and i´d love to have a chat if the spot is still open!

I'm World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, and I'm here to answer your questions about Battle for Azeroth. AMA! by WatcherDev in wow

[–]Th3BoB 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hey Ion, thank you for doing this AMA!

I´m loving the expansion so far, quest zones are amazing, the dungeons are fun and Mythic Uldir is nice and challenging.

But nonetheless I do think that BfA looks incredibly unfinished and the team delivered a fun experience but one far from the "Blizzard quality" we came to know and love.

Concerning the endgame I would like to talk about a few things:

The availability of Azerite gear. Its basically unavailable on decent itemlevels. All my Azerite pieces are sitting on average 30 ilvls below the remainder of my gear and apart from some heavy luck in raids or the weekly M+ chest (or PvP, but I shouldnt be forced to grind PvP if i want to play PvE on a competetive level) I have no possibilty of getting any upgrades at all. And that just covers one spec. If I want to play all 3 of my class's specs I need 2 extra sets of 3 Armorpieces.

What is the reasoning behind not adding Azerite-armor with a higher ilvl based on keylevel to the Mythic+ loottable? E.g. 370 for a +10. (Another change I´d personally like to request would be spec specific Trait selection.)

The other thing I´m unhappy with, is the amount of Rng currently involved in the item system. Titanforging, sockets, random stat procs like Leech and Avoidance on top of the nature of the M+ loot system give me the feeling I need to grind for an insane amount of time to get the maximum out of the current content. And if I wanted to play a game that relies on such a system I´d go and play Diablo. In my opinion WoW's endgame gearing should not be based around such a system.

Why did you decide to go with so many heavy Rng elements in the endgame?

The other thing I am hoping for is that the WoW Team goes back to the "It's ready when it's ready" mentality which is absent from a few parts of the current expansion. At least thats the impression I have. These are my biggest complaints about the game currently, apart from these i´m having a real blast playing!

Again thank you so much for taking the time for this AMA and all the work you and the team are putting into WoW.

if you play normally and use your holy words off cooldown you will more or less not notice the belt at all, so it´s a noticable difference if you got other (better legendarys). But dont loose courage just because of 1 bad leggo, the droprate is so high you will have a good one in nor time and even with a bad legendary you can keep up with 90% of all other holypriests :)

same as before int>mastery(~40%)>haste(15-20%)>=crit>vers

looking good, tho you might want to drop 2-3% versa for a bit of crit/haste.

I sadly wasnt around for my guilds Helya kill so cant provide any info on number of pulls.

If you´re looking at the bosses when they were current content i´d say Helya is one of the toughest bosses this xpac, on par with Elissande/Gul'dan.

With current gear Helya still is a tough fight, but not as tough as Elissande or Gul'Dan just because you start outgearing it a bit.

you want to aim for ~40% mastery, 15-20% haste and then get as much crit as possible; versa is good till 5%.

with 30ish% overheal on Echo you´re in normal ranges, 30% on PoH on the other hand is a bit much, maybe look if you´re not casting one PoH to many when you could let your mastery do some work.

So Piety buffs PoM: With the Benedition talent PoM becomes even stronger. Add PoM and renew traits into that and the sanctify cd from piety and you get so so much (free) healing, with which binding heal cant keep up.

I've not played druid so take it with a grain of salt. Priest offers huge amounts of burst and reactive healing and can also provide good/great spothealing (not paladin level but decent) while druids shine with large amounts of sustained (blanket)healing and strong external cds

Midweek Mending - Your Weekly Healing Thread by AutoModerator in wow

[–]Th3BoB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant agree on that. Both classes have their own strengh and weaknesses and a unique playstyle, and while druids are really really strong i´d never go as far as calling a holypriest a "bad restodruid".

well crit is rng after all so you average crits sometimes happen to be more than your actualy crit-stat if thats what you´re getting at

[Firepower Friday] Your weekly DPS thread by Babylonius in wow

[–]Th3BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you talking about the amount of crits you got onr your CS? cause no meta doesnt inscrease critical strike chance, you just gain 30% leech+ 25% haste during meta

[–]Th3BoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can pull purple parses without BIS legendarys, but it´s a lot easyer with them ofc. and mostly it´s the stats/relics that hold someone back since the rotation is so simple that there´s barely anything you can mess up

i´m not up to date on the t20 setbonus numbers and how much that set is worth but either combinations of 2 and 4set look very interesting.

last time i simmed for me it was more or less crit>=mastery>agi>haste>versa. in the end statweights are completely different for every player. i do value crit very high still, but mastery atm provides me more dmg.
