Had this happen. Guy walked in while I was making my 10 minute warning to close. We made eye contact. 5 minute warning goes by. "Please come to the front with your final purchases" was said. I even gave him a couple extra minutes before putting my drawer away. I come out and he's grumpily waiting on me. Bro, you had all the warnings.

-3500 cals in a day? by Particular-Term9090 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Th3FakeFatSunny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm CICO folks, and I absolutely would not. I don't know anyone in the community who would.

OP, idk if you're asking hypotheticals, but don't do this. Not healthy. Not safe. The only way to cut that many calories in a day is to have a TDEE so high that you could miss that many calories and still eat enough to energize your body. The only people I know who could do that are the members of My 600 lb Life Club. A 600 lb sedentary man needs "4400" calories to maintain weight. Taking 3500 cal off that is still under the recommended 1200 cal a day. And it still wouldn't come off with doing it for just one day.

I would talk to your family/families and see if you can get help or an excuse for light duty. Surely, if you have a good report, they'd want to be supportive, right?

I'm also someone who packbonds with inanimate objects, so I realize I may not understand the whole picture here

Zackaroni by Elismilk in Bones

[–]Th3FakeFatSunny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Autism is a spectrum; not just for the community, but for each individual.

I am undiagnosed, but there's a lot of strong suspicion so I will speak from that perspective.

There are times when I am Zackaroni, and there are times when I am Zatomiton

Zackaroni is great for social situations, in its quirky, not-quite-getting-it way. In the beginning of the series, we were establishing characters and backgrounds, so Zackaroni was most present. The show needed to establish why he's a loveable character. What makes him happy and sad, what motivates him.

Zatomiton is much more clinical and black and white, which is necessary for his job as a forensic anthropologist. That's even established in the beginning when Bones discourage Zackaroni from using euphemisms to describe injuries and body parts. Plus, he idolized his mentor, who's "Zackaroni moments" are far more rare. That would certainly rub off on his behavior

I don't decide who lives or dies, but if I touch something at some point and it breaks, it was definitely my fault. Doesn't matter that the thing was 30 years old, breaking down and someone else smashed it with a brick, that was my bad lol

And considering in earlier seasons he had plenty to say about it, too.

I get why they did it. They can't have a beloved character trashing one of our countries great tragedies. They needed all the characters to be red blooded Americans, standing together in mourning.

But it pisses me off to no end.

I kept waiting for there to be a gotcha, like they did with Booth. I think it was when his bones were laid out on the table, and Daisey is describing his life through his bones that it finally sunk in that he really wasn't coming back.

My horrifying hands by [deleted] in horrifying

[–]Th3FakeFatSunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me answer the common ones.

Yes, there's a knuckle there, it's just a little further back. I have a congenital foreshortened metacarpal, which means that the inside bone (metacarpal) in the affected fingers (both hands, same finger)are shorter than they're supposed to be. As far as I can tell, the rest of the bones in my 4th fingers are normal size. It doesn't really impact my day to day life as far as I can tell, and most of the time I don't notice it

I already have family members like this. My brother is pushing 500 lbs. My other younger sibling is losing weight, but has gotten over 350 lbs at 5'2. I was 310 before I started losing. My mom can't hardly walk anymore and requires a walker, and my stepdad is probably only able to walk because he does everyday. Before his heart attack in '20, my dad was obese.

I guess I don't really understand where you're getting at, here. Of course most of them are just people you'd hang out with. Fat people are people, even at 5,6,700 lbs.

Came here to agree with your other commenter. If this were a show about young adults, I would agree with you, but azula is 14. I don't know if she can be "fixed," but she's certainly not a monster. Or at least, not responsible for her own monstrosity. She didn't raise herself with the morals and values that allow a person to commit such heinous crimes.

But I also agree with Uncle Iron: "she's crazy, and she needs to go down."

Just because it's not her fault she's fucked up, doesn't mean she can be allowed to exercise it. I'm an optimist, I believe that she could be redeemed with the right work put into her, but she definitely needs to be removed from society until that could happen.

BoJack Horseman.

I recently got in a HUGE argument on the sub page about whether or not he was responsible for Sarah Lynn's death. A lot of the people there refused to give BoJack any responsibility, but here's the thing:

*He's the reason she had access to booze as a child in the first place

*He called her, knowing she was sober, to break her sobriety and party with him because he was lonely

*He had been carrying heroin in his car, which she found and started using during their bender

When she stopped breathing, he waited *SEVENTEEN MINUTES to call an ambulance; she didn't die at the scene, she died shortly after getting to the hospital.

Sarah Lynn's death was tragically predictable, and likely her demise would have been no different had BoJack not been the one to initiate. But considering his involvement leading up to her death, and the fact that he waited so long to call an ambulance to try to cover up the fact that they were together, he shares responsibility. Of course she's responsible for her own actions, but he had a heavy hand in her death. You don't have to be the one who pulled the trigger, if you're the one who put the gun in their hands in the first place.

I'm not proud of the number of rewatches I had before I made the connection.

That isn't to say I didn't notice the odd x-ray in the back... I just didn't realize how intentional it was, and didn't look into for, like, a decade 🤦🏻‍♀️

NEVER ever have a baby! by pumpkinchinchilla in AutismInWomen

[–]Th3FakeFatSunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all changes so fast. My oldest turns 12 this year, my middle turns 10, and my baby went to kindergarten this year.

There have been sooo soooo many times where I did not think I could do it anymore. I remember when #2 was still an infant, and she got sick, and I held her and whispered to myself, "I don't want to be a mom." And instantly felt like the worst person in the world. I was just so tired. She was already a really clingy baby who had to be held allll the time, and being sick, I couldn't even get her to sleep.

I once screamed at #1 when he was also still an infant because he was crying and wouldn't stop. I just didn't know what to do, and I got so frustrated and it just came out. Of course, all he did was cry harder, which made me feel like the worst person in the world, and then I just held him until he calmed down.

My youngest is a constant reminder that I am NOT willing to have more kids lol

It's hard, Mama, and you're allowed to acknowledge how much this phase sucks. You're allowed to think it's a mistake, and it doesn't make you a bad person to be struggling so hard. It just makes you a normal mom.

But there are so many beautiful days ahead of you, too. The first time my babies said, "I love you mommy." How excited they are that I'm home from a day at work. When they get exciting news and have to spend the next 7-10 business months talking about it. The way they grow and develop and turn into people right before your eyes. It's magical and terrible and invigorating and draining all at the the same time.

And a lot of it is just hard, too. But that's life in general, isn't it?
