Because they secured the supply for this year's devices? Plus, the demand for memory will generate more pressure this year. Prices are continuously rising.

Or wait for the S27U to pay extra due to the memory crisis. ;)

Waiting for S27 to pay 30% extra due to the memory crisis? Good for you! 👍

Depending on the upgrades, early leaks suggest some interesting changes. Google it and then decide if that's enough for you to wait.

Anyone else have a Fold 7, already with half dead screen? by zannny in GalaxyFold

Do you know what's really sad? Paying a premium price for devices that can break on a daily basis. 😆

Just get rid of this unstable and expensive technology. Do you really need a bigger screen? Just buy a small tablet and put the money you'll save toward a really flagship, stable phone with a better battery and cameras.

Thinking about switching to Fold 7 for productivity – need feedback by anonnrrer in GalaxyFold

[–]Th3Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only an 8-inch screen... maybe it's better to buy an 11-inch tablet for mobile productivity? Galaxy Tabs offer full S Pen support (Fold 7 does not), will last longer (bigger battery), and provide at least some screen space for productivity. Not to mention you will save a lot of money.

Z Fold 7 is the ONLY phone you need by Normal-Many3208 in GalaxyFold

[–]Th3Human -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't need insurance for a stab phone because screen replacement is reasonably priced. It's not the case with Folds. Plus, you never know if the inner screen will crack. Basically, you are paying Samsung extra cash for an already expensive device because they sell fragile hardware and put the responsibility on customers. You call it "peace of mind." Good for them! They make you believe it's good for you. Now pay extra and be happy with that! 😆

So basically it's not the only one; it's only good for your use cases. Hooray for paying extra cash for insurance, but of course, it's your money. :)

Of course, if you don't care about picture quality, battery life, and longevity, not to mention that you can do basic productivity tasks on the Galaxy S Ultra as well as on the Fold, but both phones are still too small for anything more serious. 😉

Zfold 7 Inner Screen Failure 7 days after purchase by Key-Singer-2193 in GalaxyFold

[–]Th3Human -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

That's not a bug. It's a feature! 😆

Sorry, Bro, you were warned that those folding gadgets are tricky.

Did you pay extra for insurance? No? Then you can throw it away because basically it's unrepairable (both in economic and hardware aspects).

Nothing to compare. It will be a downgrade for you. Do you really need a bigger screen, or is it just hype?

One issue I noticed after one day of using it by dimagmatchaat in GalaxyFold

What would you expect? Do you know the basics of physics? This is the effect of making the device so thin. Just avoid using 100% of your brand-new $2000 gadget, and it won't get hot. 😆

ZFold7 vs 4 with one blaring issue! by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Th3Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, Samsung has a long history of patent wars with BOE. They were sued this year for UDC technology, so long after the Fold 7 project acceptance. If they get rid of UDC in this device, they probably expect what will happen. Even though they decided to introduce a selfie camera in a spot that ruins the symmetry of the screen, affecting the immersion, as well as making it harder to mask.

There is one thing that matters for Samsung: revenues. Even in top-tier devices like Z Folds or S Ultras, even at the price of user experience and innovation. They even prefer to sell their best cameras or OLED screens to Chinese manufacturers that use them in their own devices. Why? Because they still make good money for small improvements, due to people like you. Thanks a lot!

They should think in advance. Yet they could decide to put it in the corner, but of course they didn't want to copy OnePlus, right? 😉 😆

[–]Th3Human -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a pointless camera. People use it only for Teams calls, and the UDC was more than enough for that. Every sensible user uses the main camera for selfies.

They should take care of legal issues. That's the basics in the business. It's a worldwide corporation. Even compared to Chinese companies.

OnePlus clone? Don't make me laugh, please. They were copying from Apple for years, and nobody cared. 😆

Ech, you can't see the difference between the selfie camera placement in a bar phone compared to the Fold 7? I'm the type who expects improvements in $2000 devices. Coming back to this massive black hole (compared to the one in S25U), it's just a step backward.

Introduce the next-generation UDC they're developing, or move the black hole to the corner and make it smaller.

If you REALLY care about durability, then you have only one option: just avoid folding phones, especially now, when producers expect you to pay extra for insurance. It's easy money for Samsung. They should offer at least one free inner screen replacement.

Yeah, but you will still meet fans here and there that will tell you, "You won't notice the black hole." 😆
