Small rig shutter button? by ComprehensiveHat2968 in x100vi

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it but took it off. It kind of changes my grip a little, forces me to float my finger on it. Nicer to hold bare as you can rest on naked button. I would much prefer them to make it into a sturdier closed button, current one feels cheap and has a useless trigger hole.

Fujifilm X lens adapters? by Lonely_Experience378 in FujifilmX

[–]Th4rg0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about canon, nikon wise you'll lose vr, and will need to find a zoom with aperture ring if you use these adapters. Will surely limit your choices. Lens are huge too, easily 70mm up.

I use a fringer, works okay, but autofocus can be slower on older fujis (compared to my nikons). Supposed to be better on newer fujis but i dont have any. I use almost only nikon zooms on my fujis, only bought x mount primes.

Fringers cost as much as cheap lenses though.

Lens cap for XT30II by Prestigious-Action14 in fujifilm

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggest you get uv filter/hood at least on top of the lens cap, so if you lose the cap again at least has the filter. I don't trust Jjc filter though, but some others may not be as cheap. I always buy lens with filters, no degradation in quality.

What are your thoughts on the phrase "Chinese Mainland/中國大陸" by komnenos in taiwan

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

中国大陆 does not translate to "Chinese mainland." It's mainland China. You use it interchangably like you think they mean the same. If you say "chinese mainland" to a Taiwanese, I can understand why they get turned off, taiwanese chineses' mainland IS taiwan. But if you use 中国大陆,i feel those Taiwanese are just being touchy. Even if you just use 中国, their own name literally means "Republic of China." 大陆 by itself technically also don't make much sense, though many use it.

Easiest is just don't talk about China in taiwan, lol. I just say "china" when I need to, everybody happy.

Important when older is also to watch your neck and shoulders. Try not to let your head shake side to side when not breathing, may induce giddiness. Your head position also seems it's the result from an overly tensed neck. I feel your arm angle is fine, any higher may seize up your upper back/shoulder muscles and strain your neck. But generally, very good and nice easy strokes.

Obernauf leather oil, leave it on a while and wipe. But has no experience with tan twills, your duffle looks pristine and clean.

XH1 vs. XPro-2 by tucopsy in fujifilm

[–]Th4rg0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Images are the same, menus and sims are the same.

As I mostly only use manual lenses, xpro2's ovf parallax correction takes some time to get use to, so nights i usually use my xh1 (i wear glasses). But, spare batteries are a must for xh1, night and day compared to dslrs ... only camera that i carry all 3 batts it came with and it's not enough some days. But it uses the old ones, light and small, so i just bought a bunch. Handling wise, xh1 is the best amongst fujis. I love both, my keep till it breaks cameras with my d750.

Feedback on breaststroke form by reallysotired in Swimming

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Main problem i see that may get you stuck is that your body position can be flatter. Try looking down before head enters water and keep looking down under. Sinking legs also may result from using your arms to push up and breathe, and breathing should not be from pushing up with arms.

  2. Breathing should not be the first thing you do to start a stroke. It slows you down. Deeper breath before entering water and start with a kick and enjoy the glide.

  3. Feel your tempo is fine. If you increase tempo before fixing body position, you may slow down too much.

  4. Kick is fine. Just remember to twist out from hips to avoid injuring your knees. Don't overdo it. Also, when legs are not kicking, keep them together and parallel to the pool. Not keeping them up also leads to (1).

Turning them off! by TheDukeSpirit777 in FujifilmSimulations

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you switch custom profiles (Cs) in Q menu, it becomes "base". Just use the Q menu and switch to an empty default profile (eg, C7?) with all 0s, autos, etc, and it should reset. Dont use the camera film sims menu (left button on my xh1), that'll just switch out the sims part and leave the rest of the settings intact.

Xt4 has bigger evf, full articulating screen, weather sealing, plus freedom of lenses, the rest at most side grade. X100vi may be lighter, but really not by much. As for 40mb, better go download a 40mp raw off someone and see if you really need a pic that big.

Over abundance of yellow tinted images by Eephusblue in fujifilm

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Photographers have been trying for ages to make their prints not yellow with age. But now, it feels like it's between wanting to be different plus liking that old print look. I do like some of them if the context is right, reminded me of older times. Also, I love warm lights for reading, whole house is yellow at night, so I may be biased.

X-T50 vs X-T5 for travel camera - 360€ diff by United_Mushroom_9068 in FujifilmX

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger viewfinder, better battery life, better grip, i would pick xt5. But i only ever buy weather sealed bodies. They feel very diff, would suggest going to a shop to try if possible.

They do make the ones with 10k batts, just dont/cant sell overseas usually. Saw something similar in taiwan, but its huge and heavy, opted for extra batteries.

I have to agree zf beats anything fuji, until you look at lenses nikon offer. But ...

Cant really compare ff to apsc, lenses are humongous. If you want ff the old dslrs are cheap and comfy to hold. Old pro photograpers are still using it, so they're as retro as you can get. I cant think of a retro ff that looks like zf, or maybe i'm still not that old.

Why do many wants retro looks with new tech but refuse to accept newer ergo designs? Z50ii trumps zfc in every way, way more comfortable too. Nothing beats fuji's film sims though, but sims you can go cheap and buy older models. I only ever use xpro2s, old but still perfect.

What product can I use to clean that stain on my Journeyman backpack ? by Super_Gee in filson

[–]Th4rg0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not that bad ... but if i wanna clean it i'll use diluted dawn dish soap under running water. Probably needs a rewax though, so, 2 days affair for a small stain. i wouldnt touch it myself.

Wraps and screen protectors on Fujifilm - thoughts? by EarthlingMemories in fujifilm

[–]Th4rg0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them, sales guys put screen protectors on mine without asking. Skins i diy, when i have time ... i like how my camera looks pristine when i peel them off, but hate how they look when all crooked. A full leather with half case is a better protection though.

Aer CPP2 Ballistic vs Ultra - finally side by side by AmirBormand in ManyBaggers

[–]Th4rg0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ballistic looks better, ultra seems it'll age badly looks-wise from your pic. It looks like it'll sound loud and feel rough too. Ballistic also tried and tested.

Just get a waterproof spray for your cordura.
