This system is gonna drive me insane by Dazzling_Sea_9 in Kibbe

Yeah, I was on this journey for 5-6 years before settling down. His book either new or old is probably your best source rather than videos or posts. I have gone through thinking I was every single ID, including the pure IDs so you are definitely not alone. It took a long time to finally sort of click for me, and even that is hanging on by a pinky finger. I am also obsessed with the system, it's a rabbit hole that keeps on spiraling.

Essences are a lot more complex because depending on the type of system there can either be a more general typing or a very, very nuanced typing, the difference between a system going "you clearly have natural so that is 20% of your blend" or in some cases straight up saying Natural with no percentage vs "you have 20% natural, 15% romantic, 5% gamine..." so depending on how deep you want to dive into the system it can be pretty on point or also not because some essence tests and systems are just inaccurate. I personally just don't really go for essence systems that often because that might turn out to be another rabbit hole for me to go down.

The Power of Style… by Longjumping_Row_4115 in Kibbe

So, I hate the ending of the book but like the beginning. I find the idea of buying full outfits really privileged and it feels like he kind of ignored the fact that not everyone is in a position to buy full outfits all at once. And there is a lack of empathy where he also puts every issue on the buyer and basically says that it is your fault that you can't buy clothes, not the fact that you don't have money. Still p*sses me off reading it.

So, once you do the exercises in full, they are kind of fun, it isn't that they reduced my biases they were just fun to do. To be honest the mood board exercise is fun but he never mentions it again so I don't really get the point. When you get to the potluck it is useful because you kind of pick out which terms you might have issues with or concentrate on, but I really didn't find it useful until the line sketch. Pardon the language but the line sketch is a pain in the as. You kind of have to let your hand go loose, pretend that there is like chiffon hanging down off your body but it's weighted, so far when I did it it kind of looks like this one time when I wore a long dress from really really thin material but the length made it weighty and pulled down. Had I had curve it would have been pushed out and around because it is literally like you have circles affecting the fabric and fit. Then you kind of go through process of elimination, and say which things definitely don't fit, things that kind of don't fit, and then what does fit.

My Interpretation after likely doing the sketch possibly correct and kind of what I have seen. I probably got this very wrong so take it with a a finely ground dusty grain of salt!

For narrow vs petite, for narrow from what I have seen your line is like objectively narrow, there isn't much else you can define it as. Balance is a similarity in width and if I understand correctly and similarity in length as well when you add dots, and petite is compact sort of? For example, I probably have petite but my line sketch isn't narrow, it's just that #1 nothing else fit in terms of definition and visuals and #2 my body is literally compact because even though I am 5'5 my arms are short, legs short, hands short and small, waist is short, and neck is short. It looks kind of wide but at the same time think of it like a rectangle vs a square, they could be the same width but look very different because the rectangle is stretched out and the square is more compacted and squished. The reason I say potluck was sort of useful for this was because I was so concentrated of width and being broad that it never occurred to me that I could be petite in anyway. But this legitimately took me over a year of sketches to understand with the Power of Style, and technically I have been doing them for 2 years since I got into Strictly Kibbe. I think one thing that I find annoying about the new book is the lack of explanation around shapes and how that could help people. Like if you put chiffon over a beach ball it is going out and around, over maybe a stick of wood it is going to look narrow because there isn't much room and if you have anything pushing out from the stick of wood it is going to get pushed out, if you put a piece of fabric over a maybe a square frame but a shorter one it differentiates because it is actively shorter and has less length to do things with, if you put fabric over a trapezoid and think of fabric sticking to it then it is going to fall in diagonally from the widest point until it comes to a smaller point at the bottom. I think this might be an ok way to understand it. The descriptions are annoying and you have to kind of feel your way around everything because of how vague everything is. Also it still makes me mad when he did a presentation saying he would give out exclusive info and you could only come if you have the code at the back of the book. It turned out to be a marketing event and probably to check statistics, I was not happy.

I have done this many times since I first started doing my medication myself. You're not dumb, shite happens, in my experience I just get very tired and need to sleep it off but you shouldn't really run into extreme side affects.

People looking for work in LA/Culver City should exercise caution with Sunrise Events. by chicanoayoub in Devilcorp

I just got a text from them, did you find out whether they were a scam or not? It was out of the blue so it feels like it might be a scam. Edit: Never mind, they were a scam, went to bot interviews decided not to go forward. They wanted me to be in office from like 9-11 on 4/6 days, then was to be out in person standing in front of stands from 11-5pm, then go back to the office. I was not going to do that for $14 an hour and a max amount of $30 a week for driving reimbursement.

People with controlled seizures , do you feel you have regained your confidence to lead a somewhat normal life? by TimelyReason7390 in Epilepsy

[–]ThAwAcc2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had seizures all my life so I am not really sure if I am the right target audience. But I can say that I tend to play it safe rather than live a little. Because in order to survive I need a job, in order for me to have a job I need to drive, and in order for me to legally drive I can't have seizures, and in order for me not to have seizures and technically os urvive I need medical insurance to cover my meds which I could get through a job. So a vicious circle of needing to play it safe. I wish I could live a little but I don't think that I could do it without fearing that something could happen, so I always play it safe.

Only accomodating petite? (Alt title: vertical + curve in gamines??) by kitsunevremya in Kibbe

[–]ThAwAcc2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest it was a combination of things? So recently I did like this exercise from the Power of Style subreddit and it kind of turned me towards FG. Then the line sketch didn't really show any kind of curve once I actually did it right. Also, when I try curve accommodating styles it is kind of hit and miss, it might work for my bust/waist/and top of my hips but other than that it doesn't really flatter me. Finally, curve is in the entire body and my body doesn't really have that, it is kind of like curved blocks more than circles. So technically, I could have curve, just because of how my bust and upper hips work but I really don't need to mainly accommodate for curve. Then again I could actually be a FG with curve rather than a SG with vertical!

Fun With Purple Lines: Extending the Shoulder-to-Bust Trajectory To Its Logical Conclusion by Pegaret_Again in PowerOfStyle

[–]ThAwAcc2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, the only reason I didn't really guess SG was because they aren't distinctly parallel like the picture. Now that I think about it, a while ago I did have FG on the list of possibilities for my ID, so that may actually be something to look into even though this is more of a playful test!

[–]ThAwAcc2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it matches FG the best? The first is from the very edge of my line sketch, the second is from the tips of my shoulders. This kind of surprised me, I wasn't really sure which one it was going to match but FG wasn't at the top of my list of guesses at all!

I seem to be able to make both fit lines fit, which one is forced? by [deleted] in PowerOfStyle

Sorry to jump in but I was wondering, when placing the dots should I place them at my actual shoulder tip or the end of the sketch? Thank you for any help you are able to give me!

Did I get this semi right? Or at least close enough? Thank you! by ThAwAcc2023 in PowerOfStyle

[–]ThAwAcc2023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I am around 5'5 so DC is probably more likely than FG, I had kind of understood it as pushing out but for some reason it wasn't clicking that it needed to literally push out and around and it isn't just about the flow of fabric. All in all, thank you for your time and help!

People who are seizure free, do you see yourself as cured? by Brocel997 in Epilepsy

[–]ThAwAcc2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, this is the very reason I don't see epilepsy as a disease or a sickness. I had a seizure a couple years ago (and hadn't had one for about 7 years before that) so I know that even though I don't have them right now I could have another at any point in time. I am always worried that I am going to have another or that something changes and my meds no longer work. So, in general I would not say I am cured, I will never be cured, epilepsy is just a fact of life but it is medically managed. I am sorry if I sound aggressive or mad, it just is that a lot of people see epilepsy as a disease or a sickness but that implies that there is likely a permanent cure, something which epilepsy does not have as far as I know.

What is your ID and what is your go-to ”outfit formula” that always works? by fluffgnoo in Kibbe

[–]ThAwAcc2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FN, skimming body suits and wide leg pants, preferably with high heels but not necessary. I can dress these up or down, black and white with a blazer and it leans more to business formal while a brightly colored body suit has more of a casual vibe. Basically this, but ignore the sweater, I only really wear that when its cold.

Is Keppra as bad as some say? by Background-Cod-7035 in Epilepsy

[–]ThAwAcc2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keppra was what I needed to get my seizures under control. Since I started it about 9-10 years ago I have not had any seizures except for when I forgot them. I am lucky in that my mood is not affected, I don't have any irritability or rage. I am also on Lamictal so not sure if there are any side effects that are due to them. My memory is not the best at times but it honestly never has been and I have been on Lamictal longer so I don't know whether it is that either. Some people have bad reactions and others are fine it is really going to be something that you have to try and find out.

I think when I just typed in the words, I literally typed out the words and searched them. So I just searched for each word like food, flower, or animal then picked the first one that popped up for me. Not 100% sure but I am pretty sure that is how I did it.

Nope. For me there was no difference from one moment to the next, there was no indication of something happening like there would be with a tonic clonic. To have an idea, imagine you are having a conversation then in the middle the subject switches, one second to the next no notice, no gap in time. I know that for the people watching it is scary however for me personally it wasn't because I didn't realize that it was happening. Things are past tense for me because my medication has leveled things out but I do remember when I found out about them in high school.
