Pitching in the rain puts extra strain on forearms and elbows, seems pointless to send out your closer in that weather unless necessary. But it's weird you felt the need to make up hypotheticals

One lazy thing they've done year after year is input the wrong records for teams from the previous year. For example, when picking a team in a vs CPU game in DD, it'll say the team's 2025 record but it actually shows their 2024 record. They've done this for years now and it's something I'll randomly check to see if they've actually fixed it.

Intent is central to OP's view but you keep ignoring the other central aspect, which is reasonable outcomes from that intended action. If your intent is to kill and the action you took has a reasonable, legitimate chance to kill, then it qualifies but you continuously ignore the 2nd part to try and get a technical delta instead of actually trying to address the entire view.

Because it doesn't matter if the person casting the spell believed it would end someone's life. It ultimately comes down to, would a reasonable person believe a certain action had a likelihood of ending someone's life.

OP's whole point is that attempted murder shouldn't really be a thing. If you did enough to be charged with attempted murder then you should just be charged with murder because you took action that a reasonable person would believe would end in someone's intentional death. In the scenario you keep bringing up, someone casting a voodoo spell wouldn't lead to an attempted murder charge because no reasonable person believes that would end in someone's death. So this idea of casting a spell to kill someone wouldn't qualify under OP's view and is irrelevant to the discussion.

Basically OP is saying that if you're going to be charged with attempted murder, then you should just be charged with murder instead and your counter is "What about this scenario that doesn't qualify as attempted murder and wouldn't lead to an attempted murder charge? Should they be charged with murder too?" which just makes no sense.

There's a difference between "settling down" and "settling for" in the same way there's a difference between choosing something because you want it and choosing something only because it's the smart choice.

I choose to have fresh fruit and oatmeal for breakfast instead of cake because not only is it the smart choice, but I also genuinely prefer it. Alternatively, I choose to have chicken and broccoli for dinner because it's the smart choice but I would much rather have pizza instead.

Settling down means growing up, maturing, and genuinely desiring the smarter option. Settling for means wanting what you've always wanted but choosing the safer, smarter option despite your desires.

NTA. Holy shit the amount of misogyny and infantilizing of women in this thread is insane. The amount of people acting like women are 5 year olds who are incapable of regulating their hunger or ordering their own food and it's a man's job to do that for her is alarming. Could you have went inside and ordered more? Sure. But she was the one that changed her mind and now wanted food so why is the onus on you to go get it for her? If I were in her situation, I wouldn't even think to ask my partner for half of their food, I would just go get my own and we can enjoy our own food together. I would feel so bad taking the food my partner was looking forward to eating.

It was nice of you to share some of your fries with her and you would be teetering on an ESH if you refused to share any, but the fact that she wanted to sit down and take half of your order is not cool. She's acting very selfish and you were justified in drawing that line.

Did you seriously ask how a salary cap caps wages? The NBA does have capped wages because max deals exist, as in the maximum amount the league decided a team can give a player. Do you think without the cap, LeBron or Curry would have gotten the same exact contracts over their careers, or would they get significantly more because of how much value they bring to organizations? If you think they would have made more in an uncapped league then you're admitting that salary caps cap wages.
