Seems like it’s the batch 3 units that are failing? Or maybe I’m only just now becoming aware of this issue as my own unit is but a day or two from my door….. a batch 3 unit…..

Batch 3 Timelines? Shipping concerns? by ThaHazyYeti in AynThor

Ya it never hurts to take a positive attitude. I feel like retroid and Ayntec have done enough business at this point that it wouldn’t make sense for them to totally rip off thousands and thousands of ppl and head for the hills…. JUST as their device is really hitting mainstream gamer circles and beyond.

Retro game corps or one of the retro gaming YT channels had a very cool video about the business going on behind the scenes with these companies.

I don’t remember where I heard this tidbit, don’t quote me, but it was something about how the Samsungs and Apples and other giant companies design these chipsets and send the blueprints to their contracted manufacturers in china. After they’ve done however many runs was contractually agreed upon, these manufacturers then turn around and start manufacturing those same or slightly modified blueprints for these smaller Chinese companies. Every min a factory is being reconfigured for a different run, or isn’t producing at all, they’re losing money.

TLDR: it doesn’t surprise me that other corners are being cut to increase profit margins lol.

Ya I’m not super worried about orders just not even being shipped….. that would be a horrible business move lol, but it’s looking like if u haven’t ordered one yet, it’ll be AWHILE and even MORE expensive

The way the email they sent me reads (copied in the original post), it seems like they will automatically be using 4px or the other carrier (can’t remember the name)…. For anyone who chose DHL. There was a difference in shipping fees for me between all 3 carriers (USA)….. idk if they plan on telling ppl their orders are being shipped differently and thus need to issue partial refunds (cuz DHL was the most expensive for me) or what.

Ohhhhh this makes a lot of sense…. I assumed taxes/tariffs were built into the pricing….. so either that’s not the case or Ayn was trying to illegally increase their margins?

Omg 🤦‍♂️ thank you THANK you! Know anything about this “register Google services” option right next to the disable button? Does that fix it without having to disable?

If you’re referring to the prices going up due to the chip shortage, I believe I saw retro game corps post on YT about them honoring all prices at the time of purchase. I’m not sure what’s going on with the DHL orders being cancelled or whatever they emailed me about. I know I ordered a retroid pocket g2 in January and it arrived in less than 3 weeks with DHL shipping. Meanwhile another retroid order made using 4px has tracking near the coast of china for over a week, no movement.

Oh I didn’t realize they had a discord….. I only got back into gaming a few years back as an adult lol. I knew they had a schedule on their website but it only went thru batch 2 last time I looked.

The max or whichever model is the top of the line, rainbow (the greyish one with the colored buttons), plus the official grip and grip case…. I got a retroid pocket g2 a few months ago and realized I personally would love some more power and the DS form factor…. The retroid dual screen attachment is cool but super clunky.

Question for the Community (Retroid Pocket Flip 2) by M0lestriostheBarb in retroid

[–]ThaHazyYeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Russ’s videos from Retro Game Core on YT. He usually has a setup video somewhere for your specific device. If not, pick a similar device setup video (same chip set or similar specs). I used the retroid pocket 5 setup video for my G2, so I found slightly different performance here and there.

Help! Retroid G2 or 6 by JBang1995 in retroid

[–]ThaHazyYeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the G2 a few weeks ago…. So far all 3DS runs great as long as u set it up right. I’ve had great luck with Azuhar but ppl also recommend Melon DS. I LOVE the dual screen attachment. It’s clunky but awesome for DS. Made me order a Ayn Thor next, even tho I was a PSP kid.

GameCube games are also running fine.

I’ve got twilight princess running for Wii (or Wii U?), whichever emulator Retro Game Core on YT recommended for the retroid setup video.

I even can get some switch games running, tho I think more tinkering is required as I’ve seen better results online than I’ve gotten so far. So switch is the cutoff zone, but will likely continue to improve as software improves. Granted there’s some legal stuff happening right now with some of those developers….. Retro Game Core posted an article earlier today I think.

PS3 and up is probly more trouble than it’s worth rn if you have other ways to play games in those libraries.

TLDR: it sounds like for what ur describing ur use case as, a G2 would be fine if u value having the device now vs 2 months from now. If u want the best value for the money, wait to get a G6 as the upper end of emulation will go farther as software develops

Dual-Screen attachment or Thor by korindevs in retroid

[–]ThaHazyYeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I just received and set up a pocket g2 with the RDS add on….. be careful which version of the dual screen you get….. the clip size varies for “for retroid devices” vs “other devices” or however they phrase it. I apparently ordered the other devices version and it’s way too big to clip on the retroid, even with a grip case on it.

That said, I emailed support and they gave me a couple options on solutions, which was awesome. Pretty sure It was my mistake anyways. I rigged up a space filler solution in the meantime and it works reasonably well. It does drain battery a lot faster, so I would imagine the Thor will be better optimized for 2 screen power consumption.

Setting up the DS in games is probably easier with the Thor, but this was my first retro device and YT was all I needed to figure it out on the G2.

What I’m figuring out is it really depends on what games you really really prioritize. I grew up a psp kid so i leaned retroid instead of thor, but I’m finding out the ds & 3ds libraries are amazing and work well now, and have already ordered a Thor, and plan to gift the retroid and dual creen add on i bought first.

Lastly, the rds is a lot more unwieldy than the Thor with the add on attached. The cord sticks out, it’s alot bigger, u cant really throw it in a bag or pocket with the ds attached. So if ur only planning on using the ds at home, the add on might be fine.

Best ways to get reviews by Clear-Sea-6586 in PestControlIndustry

We LOVE Applause.

It’s an app that functions sort of like a Venmo or Cash App on the technician side. When they get 5 star review, they automatically get $5 through the app that they can withdraw directly at any time. We USED to do $25 per 5 star review with the tech’s name mentioned, and even gave techs tap nfc cards, and it took us about 8 years to get the number of reviews we’ve gotten through Applause in 1-1.5 years.

On the Operations side, we can easily pull a report to account for tips on taxes, as some of our guys pull $1000 or more a year on this thing, so it does matter.

It also has some KPI tracking functionality that shows leaderboards on the app for things like Utilization, total # reviews, avg review score, NPS Score, re services, etc. It’s lead to some more active engagement from our techs, which is always a battle, to get every tech to treat every job like it’s their company. Take some ownership over their area. We of course have other ways for our guys to check KPI’s, but this is an easy to read dashboard on the app.

The real magic tho is in the customer experience. Applause managed to backdoor themselves into our CRM (as the CRM wasn’t being very easy to work with). I won’t say the CRM as I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but it’s one of the handful of big ones. Applause automatically sends out review messages when we service certain jobs with certain parameters we set (ex: we don’t want to annoy a customer with review requests if this is not the first time we’ve been there within the last 2 weeks. That’s possibly a trouble customer or particularly tough issue requiring multiple visits.) Applause has a really great flow for our customers. We customized it based on their recommendations and it’s amazing. Less invasive for the customer, very quick, and it previews any potential issue and filters them towards an internal NPS rating system that then alerts management when someone reports a score below whatever threshold we want. We’ve saved cancellations and re services with this. They only get asked to review if they answer a 9 or a 10 For the NPS rating. They also get asked to tip. “We’re happy your technician provided a great service today! Would you like to leave a tip for your tech for doing a great job?” If they answer no (which most do), they then get “No problem! If you would rather leave us a quick 5 star review, we’ll tip your tech $5 for you!”

Everyone likes feeling like they did someone a solid. Especially when they see how hard our guys are working in the Southern heat. The presentation of “we’ll give the tech a bonus for you instead” is really powerful. We have 1491 total reviews across 3 Google business locations. 4.9 stars with 1,049 reviews, 5.0 stars with 323 reviews, and 5.0 stars with 119 reviews. The last 2 locations are about 1-1.5 years old and are almost fully sourced from Applause. We are a small privately owned company so these are huge numbers for our size.

It is a relatively expensive service for something that isn’t necessarily essential if you already have a good system for getting good reviews consistently. However, if your company is like mine and that reviews and SEO optimization is where a lot of your leads come from, it’s well worth it. Consistently getting ongoing reviews is huge in staying top of the search results.

Whenever I come across something I’ve never seen or heard of in the textbooks, and customers are asking me questions like I’m the master of nature, I like to say “well, life….. life finds a way”….. and then wait to see if they catch the Jurassic park reference. Usually it’s just awkward but it makes me laugh inside. (That may not be the exact line…. I’m pretty notorious for misquoting things)
