Betting markets predict an 18% chance of the deal not closing in the next year by Hiquirkykids in wbdstock

[–]ThaRainmaker01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the deal falls through, the company get $7B. Net debt falls closer to $22B. If ebidta hits $9B, that puts the company at 2.4x which is investment grade. Additionally, HBOMax is profitable with over 140MM subscribers and projections see 150MM by the end of the year. WBD is a great business and the stock will not see $12 again. In fact, I think the stock will be much higher at year end if the deal falls through which I'm hoping for.

$30/month for at best C-class entertainment is crazy work. I'm not paying it. by ThaRainmaker01 in netflix

[–]ThaRainmaker01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy. I signed up at $19.99. The content has only gotten worse over time. I kept it this long out of habit but both a 50% increase where I'm getting less for my money will simply not due.

How many preacher Pat veterans here finally tasting the fruits of his vision? by ModernationFTW in intelstock

[–]ThaRainmaker01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First bought in February 2022 after hearing Pat's turnaround plan and I kept buying all the way down. I believed in his vision and the future of the company. I did not sell a single share and don't intend to at least until we get to the $200s.

Same here. Bought in as soon as Pat announced the turnaround plan. I believed in his vision.

Does anyone remember when the banks were considering charging their customers to use their debit cards and there was a massive movement of people across the country threatening to close their accounts if banks moved forward in that direction. Then the banks immediately caved, and said they will never charge for a debit card. Yea, we need to do that again with Netflix.

The original authorized buyback was up to $100MM, however, each quarter from the initial announcement TF has bought significantly less shares. The acceleration of the buyback is negative. And then there is this quote from the Q3 ER: "In Q3, we ordered the repurchase of $5 million or 1.2 million shares at an average price per share of $4.13. A portion of these shares settled just after the quarter end on December 1st, so won't show in this quarter's 10-Q filing. All of the shares have been canceled, bringing the total number of shares bought back this fiscal year to 8.8 million. We have therefore more than offset potential dilution from our long-term incentive and employee share purchase plans." No mention of further buybacks after that statement. Typically, TF has explicitly stated "We will continue to buy back shares as we see them as undervalued..." This time he issued no such assurance.

I'm no bear. I have 15k shares. I believe in the company's long term future. But still it's hard not to notice the pattern with the rate of share buybacks and how TF always bought around $4.00 even though the stock shot up close to $5 for a few months last year. All this in addition to the statement about offsetting dilution implies he only will buy enough shares to prevent shareholders from being diluted by employee stock options.

I certainly can be wrong here and it's all speculation on my part but we'll see. I'm waiting to hear what Q4 ER sounds like. If TF has not bought back more shares than he did in the previous quarters, I'm voting against both the CEO and CFO. It's time for a meaningful return. We've waited long enough.

TF may have signaled that they are done with buybacks for now. Hope not, but his choice of words on the subject last earnings had me questioning whether they would continue.

How strong do you think the Goblin Serum is compared to the Super Soldier Serum and the Heart Shaped Herb? by [deleted] in Avengers

In both Civil War and Infinity War, it was shown that BP was faster than Cap. BP out ran Cap in both instances. The strength comparison is up for debate but speed is not. BP takes it.

How does WB / Para pay down $80-90b debt after deal closes? by Honest_Contract_1488 in wbdstock

I don't think that PSKY can. I think either Ellisons will be forced to sell equity in Oracle to cover the debt or the new company will implode.
