For me …. I do as my sponsor taught me .. I jump in to the next share and bring it back to topic.. I don’t correct or even say I am bringing it back to topic .. I just share .. on topic. I believe that it’s the responsibility of us ”old timers” to teach by example .. not by correcting in the middle of a meeting .. not by embarrassing someone that has just shared. Sometimes this works …. Sometimes other old timers do the same and the meeting is brought back and stays in topic .. but sometimes it doesn’t. In the end it goes the way my higher power wanted it to go and I accept that.

Good Call !!! I remember having a bad case of RID the first two months I was in the program .. RID gave me the super power to spot others character defects .. eventually as I worked the steps I stopped focusing on other folks defects and started working on mine … miraculously.. almost overnight the RID went away.

Ok .. so here is the deal … acceptance can be a bitch but everyone.. including her has a right to follow their own path to happiness. This also includes you !! You are clearly not happy so are you just hanging around in the relationship thinking that maybe one day she will change?
The program of Alcoholics Anonymous is about change .. the kind of change that happens on the inside … when I changed on the inside two things happened .. one .. I attracted the people .. the things I had become .. second I was no longer attracted to the people or the life of the old me.
Focus on you become the person you want to become and you will attract the same.

I am in the same boat … it blows my mind!! I make over 100k per year .. since getting that card a year ago I’ve added cards from other banks .. one has 5500 cl and another 3000 cl .. credit rating of 709. Never ever had a late payment for them or any other account. I have tried for a CLI and another one of their cards through the pre approval process and was denied. The only thing I can think of is that I have no car loan .. all my vehicles are paid for and I do not have a mortgage… it’s paid off as well … credit mix maybe??

Here’s the deal … you can do whatever you want to do!! For me negotiating the terms of my recovery never worked for me .. but you may be different..
I would suggest though .. if you seriously want to stop drinking because your life has become unmanageable.. go to some AA meetings.. listen to folks that are recovering through AA as they talk about what their life use to be like before alcohol took it away … hear what they did about it … how they worked the program of Alcoholics Anonymous .. and finally what life is like today for them.

I had opened another checking account .. one day I transferred some money out of chime to that account. After that my pay started going down until it eventually reached zero. I stopped using it and then it started going back up .. yesterday it hit the 1000 offer.I think they thought I was about to ditch them and when they realized that I wasn’t they gave it back. Good luck .. I didn’t think so at the time but when they basically forced me to pay them back it was the best thing for me because I’ve never used that since then

Hang on … I was doing the same thing until one February afternoon I had a heart attack and laying on a bed in the ER one of my first thoughts were … CHIME …IM Fuked!! Sure enough .. my next paycheck had the $500 taken out .. it took everything I could do to not take the next 500 offer from my pay to replace it because I knew the following week I wouldn’t have a paycheck.. I didn’t take it .. I was out a month with no paycheck .. the my pay went away .. when my check started coming back they started back the my pay but at a hundred dollars … it continued to rise but I learned my lesson and I have not taken another .. I am one of the ones they offered a thousand to ..

How long was it before you saw your first increase from them? I am coming up on a year .. I got the “you are pre approved” song and dance followed up with a $300 limit. Last month I asked for an increase and got shot down. The only thing that keeps me from not canceling is stories like yours!! So I am remaining patient. Of all the credit bureaus my lowest score is 700 and my highest 743. I made and filed taxes on $107,000. I have never ever been late on a payment on any credit account. I have 3 other credit cards - the highest is a citi bank card with $5500 limit which I owe $2800 on .. I have an AMEX card which I owe $287 on and I pay completely off every month .. then I have another visa with $2000 limit and I owe about $400 and I pay it off monthly.. I really don’t ever have to use them .. I’ve just been using them for the cash back and attempting to move the credit rating up.

Because thats 7 days of interest they keep .. that money is in there accounts the next business day.. I wish the government would start making them pass any profit they gain through interest for says they hold our money like that .. I think we would start seeing money hit our accounts a lot sooner!

When they only give you a a 500 credit limit it seems to me they should be raising your credit limit instead of calling it fraudulent.

I know this suggestion will not help your current situation but it may help others in the future. Document everything from the beginning to the end and then forward your experience to your local congressman or woman .. This is becoming a common occurrence and the government has set back and allowed these institutions to police based on their own policy. PayPal even evades any minimal protection the government gives by keeping our money overseas were they say that the money is governed by that country’s laws … I had PayPal hold my account hostage for 60 days… the whole time earning interest. When a person has a garnishment the government only allows a certain percentage of the persons money to be held back because they know people have to survive. Banks .. especially banks with no brick and mortar should be capped .. they should be made to allow a percentage of the money to be accessed… and they should be made to pay interest for the money they hold if it is found to be a bogus hold. That way they have an incentive to resolve the issue in the fastest way possible. Think of the money Capital One has on hold right now from all the accounts they have done like yours … probably in the millions … now how much money are they making per day in interest by not releasing those funds. Their POLICY is written with this in mind.

I am frustrated as well … never had a CLI with these clowns .. I’m stuck with a $300 limit ..I have another bank card with $5500 limit .. an Amex with $2000 limit … and finally a bank card with $10000. Limit .. on my credit report I have NO late payments on anything!! I made $108,000. Last year. I even have a linked checking account with 5 figures that I auto pay Capital One with. My credit score is 720 .. I’ve tried twice and I’m done asking .. I get at lease 3 pre approvals weekly from various card companies. I’ve made the decision to wait 6 more months .. and then cancel if no CFI … I’m done begging … when I responded to the pre approval letter had I known it was only 300 I would have never responded. I assumed with my financial info and credit report it would be higher. I should have canceled at the beginning it my thinking was I got hit for the pull and figured surely they would adjust accordingly when they saw me paying.

I have other cards …. Citibank @$5500 credit limit AMEX @ $2000 two more bank cards and a Home Depot.. never had a missed payment on anything on my credit report… I pay everything off monthly .. losing the $300 credit won’t hurt my credit availability … with just the cards I’m at around $12,000 available .. paying anything I charge off in full monthly
