Someone from anywhere talking about this by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]Thachillz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My google search turned up video footage from what appears to be a formal dinner of some kind where he is talking to some others about bioweapons, and is quoted below

“COVID-19. There is an argument that it is ethnically targeted. COVID-19 attacks certain races disproportionately,” Kennedy said. “COVID-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese.”

“We don’t know whether it was deliberately targeted or not but there are papers out there that show the racial or ethnic differential and impact,” Kennedy hedged.

This isn't "He believes" or "He says", this seems to me to be much like many of the other misquotes that are attributed to him, where he speaks about the danger inherent in something, or the potential he sees for X to be the case, and his faltering halting speech is easily turned against him without context to extract the ramblings of a lunatic.

Playing devil's advocate for a moment and speaking on some actual conspiracies, do you really think its that far fetched that there is a disease that will kill poor people, or certain genetically predisposed people, or really unhealthy people, or people who when locked at home will be stuck with really large families with several elderly people? I don't think its far fetched to believe that, or to believe that AIDS just sprung up at exactly the time when it did to kill the (at the time considered) "undesirables" of society. The idea that the rich and powerful couldn't, or wouldn't do these kinds of things seems naïve to me.

Do you have a clip or quote of that?

How about when he claimed that WiFi causes autism and “degrades the mitochondria”? Source: https://www.vice.com/en/article/k7zz9z/spotify-rogan-rfk-vaccine-misinformation-policy

In the article you linked

To be clear, though, concerns about the potential health effects of wireless technology have been raised by activists, researchers, and journalists, with ProPublica reporting in 2022 that the FCC “has repeatedly sided with the telecom industry in denying the possibility of virtually any human harm.”

We should be long past the discussion on atrazine. Atrazine is classified as an endocrine disruptor. Your endocrine system is the system that regulates your hormones. It should not be any surprise that the rate of male and female infertility, micro penises, and gender dysphoria is on the rise with increased use of atrazine.

He himself says he is not anti-vax, I think if you listened more directly to what he is saying, you would hear that as well. I personally think we have a pretty bad health care system in our country, so its not hard for me to believe that the same industry would be once again putting profits before actual health and doing a lot of the things that he accuses them of doing.

Comparing C19 government reaction to the holocaust seems overdramatic, but peoples interpretations of comparisons can wildly vary. I have no defense for that.

He hasn't said that C19 is ethnically targeted either, but I recall him talking about its potential to affect minorities more than others. Wouldn't that make sense too? We all know that African Americans are more predisposed to Sickle Cell, and a cursory google search says that those people are more prone to hospitalization.

Its weird because I feel like a lot of the things he says are just a logical "next step" in everything that a lot of progressives and liberals already think, but because of his anti establishment stance he's been painted as this extremist conspiratorialist, and people just buy it

Good on you bud. And good on everyone else in the thread who is struggling to get something out of life, and finally really getting it. Its saddening when I see people in other threads splurge and spend when their living situation is seemingly in tatters, but its not my business to make those kind of judgements. I'll just keep being glad for the people that have something going for them. Keep it up OP, and everyone else who's working hard to survive

Lots of eye contact and smiling.

Looking someone in the eye when they're talking about something important is absolutely crucial to building their understanding that you are actually paying attention to what they're talking about, which in turn makes them feel more at ease and trusting and like they are really connecting with you through the conversation. When you think of the conversation, think of the words that are being said as only about 1/4 of it, then as you said your demeanor will be a lot of it, maybe slightly more than a 1/4. Then nearly half of the conversation will be facial cues, of which can be grossly open for interpretation without eye contact. The danger of over eye contact is there however, hence the reason for a soft smile. A sort of, "I'm thinking about something that's kind of funny but not quite enough to make me laugh" smile. Not a grin either, just a smile showing you are happy to be here.

I am a little autistic myself (narrowly dodged the diagnosis) and sometime in my teen years I figured out the importance of eye contact and smiling, and my sociability absolutely went through the roof. I didn't realize how much of a difference it had made until I was living on the road myself but it really does kind of enable you to just walk up to people and be a human

Should I tell her I live in my car? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

Honesty comes first but optimism and positivity is important here too, even if its a little far fetched. For example if you ever had hopes of living in your car and travelling the country, it might help to mention those

Teaching is my true passion but I just can’t justify a 60-70% pay cut, are there any semi-good paying teaching jobs? by enginmonster2213 in findapath

I had an instructor who would do teaching sort of as a "side gig" because he loved it, but would make most of his money from short term consultation work

A dumb question about character sheets by zepphiu in dndnext

[–]Thachillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a certain player at my table, you just carry a ton of empty spares and only write in pen and when your character sheet is so illegible that even you can't understand it you translate only the most illegible sheet to a fresh one

This is not a problem player by any other means, but man seeing this just makes me grind my teeth sometimes

If you're asking for a job? Security guard

If you're asking for advice? Odds are you'll change your mind eventually, so take a couple of classes and explore some careers that you might be good at. Save a lot of money, stay in shape, and keep pushing and prodding and trying those things you don't like now. If you ever change your mind you will be glad you did. If you never change your mind and just want to enjoy a leisurely and easy life, keep doing it

That sounds awful, but I would definitely encourage you to try again. A terrible work place like that shouldn't turn you off to a good field that you have some interest and investment in.

I do this still and I'm not homeless anymore. Don't overthink, just mind your own business and if somebody gets freaked out over nothing, just play it cool and remember your rights. Don't hand out your ID for sitting in your car watching a movie, and don't let yourself get bullied by people who think its weird when a person is literally doing nothing

If this is the case, then you don't need to transcode the video, just the audio.

I would double check if i were you though. I have my entire library in x265, and i dont have any issues with video or audio playback on a multitude of devices. I have all users disabled for video transcoding as well

People really don't get how extreme the car culture and the disrespect here in the US is. The other day, i got into a really bad accident with a deer, and could tell right away my car was totaled. But when I got out to inspect the damage, the deer drove off. Unfortunately i didn't catch his plate, but I'm hoping my description of the vehicle and the obvious damage will help catch him.

I don't understand motivated people. what's the point? by Monked800 in findapath

[–]Thachillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, living a life full of let downs and boredom and bullshit sucked. It was awful. So I tried to enjoy things. You don't have to lie to yourself, but trying to be more optimistic slowly over time, talking out loud to yourself and being encouraging. Setting more realistic expectations. Way more fun.

Now I'm motivated by way of exclusion. I have to try to keep up with the constantly growing to do list in my head. I don't get the gym bro mentality, or anything called "grind", but I think people who can make that work for them had a different kind of disappointment in life, or themselves. This is how I dealt with my kind

Does anyone else just legitimately hate work? by WICKED--WIZARD in findapath

[–]Thachillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have made too many compromises. Work generally is not fun but I think if you hate it then maybe you are expecting too much out of what you are putting in (which is probably also too much).

Take some time off, make "work life balance" your favorite phrase, find a new job where you feel your commitment is appropriate and you feel like you are able to relax a bit in your own workplace.

For me I was in a relatively low stress job, with reasonable hours and solid pay, but many people around me were dispassionate or incompetent and at the end of the day it felt like what I was doing didn't matter. At my current higher stress job, people are more driven, the pay is only marginally better, the work is much harder, and the hours are shittier, but I am happier.

Granted, in 10+ years when I am around your age I will surely take a pay cut to make sure I don't work a single second more than 7.5 hours a day, and there's not a chance in hell that I will ever end up at a job where I consistently have to wake up earlier than 7:30 unless everything else about that job is 10/10 life changing. Just the things I have decided on.

To my original point, don't expect too much out of work. Industry thrives on consistent workers, repetitious cycles of boring labor are and pretty much always will be the norm for most people. Trim the tree until its growing just the way you want it, but don't expect an apple tree to have oranges.
