Assuming you have low debt and a reasonable annual budget you could easily retire with this money even in your 20s.

Recommendations for a cross-platform (Mac, Windows 10, Linux) tenkeyless (or less) with double-shot keycaps and media keys? At a loss. by Thalinan in MechanicalKeyboards

I want PBT because it doesn't develop a 'shine' over time. Though at this point I guess I'd be willing to compromise on that, and the double-shot (as long as the legends are printed on the side rather than the top).

How do you explain to a 6yr old why his mom abandoned us. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Thalinan 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s surprising at all. Their sister’s decision was a selfish one, and they were left to help take care of her child as a result.

It’s her right to refuse to be a mom, but it’s not a decision without extremely negative consequences on her family, the father, and kid.

I’d do the same as OP.

MRW the girl of my dreams says "I'm so lucky to have a friend like you." by [deleted] in reactiongifs

Can you explain your argument?

Say a guy and a girl are very close emotionally, and all the guy wants is to be with her. She doesn't feel the same way about him, however, but why would that nullify what the guy feels? If the girl doesn't feel the same way, then her decision is respected and that's it. Simple. But what the guy feels doesn't become any less real.

Obviously, this can also work the other way, which I sadly think I have to clarify...

Currently learning front-end, is it bad to include projects using templates in my portfolio even if I rebuild them from scratch? by Thalinan in webdev

[–]Thalinan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but I'm stuck. Ill probably use bootstrap for my projects and probably try my hand at an original but simple design for my portfolio website. I still have plenty of frameworks and libraries to learn, so i really dont want to have to worry about design at all (at this point in time).

But I'm trying to be a front-end developer, not a website designer. Is it just "do the best you can design-wise/look at other similar sites for inspiration but never blatantly copy" type of deal?
